Anyone tried PTS on PC? How's new BP? Is it really better? There are 75 levels now instead of 50, right?

Trying to grind out roughly 14 games of Rise of Furia to get that bonus Diamond Chest before the patch hits on Wednesday. The queue time is ridiculously long and there are still quitters.

Is it one chest only, for everything above 1k shards? Or one chest per 1k?
I already have 1.5k, lol.

Any advice on customising loadouts ? I am using the standard ones and importing from leader board doesn't work on Switch for me . Also i am always using auto purchase am i screwing myself? Coming from Overwatch all these customizations are daunting.

One only as far as I can tell from the wording.

When I customized loadouts, I'd play around with a champion I was interested in for a bit, then checked out their options and considered what would be most beneficial to me on the battlefield. Often times certain cards have really good synergy with a particular talent, so keep those in mind as well.

And yeah, auto purchase is really lousy. It's supposedly getting some kind of improvement in this next update, but the current form is dumb dumb dumb.

I was halfway through writing out some items suggestions, when I remembered that someone on reddit already did it better. So here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Paladins/comments/88qoxw/items_and_you_the_complete_item_guide/

It's only slightly out of date, as it doesn't include Khan, Furia, or the upcoming Koga. Plus, the price on Resilience was changed.

I never used autopurchasing. I would just turn that feature off and get used to thinking about purchases at the start of rounds.

As for loadouts, you could check a site like paladinsguru or maybe character guides people post with loadout suggestions. I typically import from leadboards or make my own though.

Importing loadouts was broken with the latest update, it was patched on PC last week with a hotfix, which should be coming to everyone either tomorrow or Wednesday.

Turn auto buy off, more often than not it'll screw you over. For items, you have 4 tiers. Blue Items are Defense, Yellow Items are Utility, Green Items are Support, and Red Items are Damage. Which items you pick depends on your character choice, who's on your team, and who you're playing against. So if you're playing a Support, going with Chronos is typically recommended so you can keep your heals going out, and getting Haven or Blast Shields may benefit you in the long run instead of going for Cauterize or Wrecker. Playing a Damage or Flank, you may want to prioritize getting Cauterize early to help shut down any healing the enemy may have, or going with Wrecker if they have heavy Shield users.

You can choose to follow that advice, but Paladins really opens up when you start playing with the systems and fiding something that works for you. Take Seris for example, she has loadout cards that can increase her movement speed whenever you someone has a mark on them. The more marks, the faster she goes. Combine that with the Nimble card, and some good aim, you can cross most of the maps in a short amount of time.

Post what characters you tend to play, and either I or someone else here can give you some more pointers about how to put together some easy to use loadouts.

Honestly, try the champion 2 or 3 times with default loadout, then build one yourself that adapts to YOUR way of playing.
My healing Pip sure is different from a "flank" Pip.

And yes, quit auto-purchase.
Try choosing a "Yellow" Item first. Chronos is a sure bet, but Morale Boost workd wonders on Champs that build easily their Ulti.
Then focus on what kind of damage is your enemy doing (Blast or Haven), then focus on Healing or Damaging items.

Learning to adapt on the fly, is what puts a good player above others.

So I have been playing this on Switch and I love it.
I've been running Vivian and I've hade quite a lot of success.
I don't understand why people hate on her so much :/

Thanks for the replies, I have tried most characters for a bit but I've played the most with seris, furia , khan , buck ,Grover and androxus in that order . Seris is my favorite so far but I plan on trying other support characters

I don't know if this is specific for new players on switch but I AM SICK OF people who pick a hero they never played on ranked. Also people who never go on the objective area instead fighting behind or wandering around ... I open the game in the evenings to release the steam of the day and most of these days come out more pissed :) I understand normal game to some degree but at least on RANKED don't play a hero if you don't know how to play him-her AND please stick to the objective all the time...

/rant ends here.

I thought you had to be a certain level with a champ to play it in ranked.

It makes sense. Playing in ranked was a bit of a chore before due to queue times, probably increased by the barrier to entry. I guess it's a lot better now, I should give it a shot again.

I just had about 6 minute queue time, which isn't as bad as it has been in the past. Granted this is first qualifying match, could get worse. Had times in the past where waiting 15 minutes was like the average. That's when I gave up on ranked.

I like ranked though the queue time is still pretty bad. Drafting in a FPS is still something that is pretty new for me. Team asked if I could play cassie. Cassie used to be my fave before they removed her bow and before tyra was a thing (before viktor was a thing too actually). I didn't even have a loadout built for her, since they reset the loadouts many times lol. Rusty as hell with her. But they made her pretty easy once they added a lot of speed to projectiles a long time ago. And her anti-tank mastery card was obviously buffed a great deal. I ended up top damage (~120k dmg) though it took about a round and a half for me to really get a grasp of her. You can really shred a makoa now lol. Reminds me of the old combos you could pull off, but in a little ways a bit better since it doesn't have to be mid air hits and you can get multiple shots in during the window you have now.

Vivian is THAT bitch!
She is insane DMG, especially with that talent that gives her +20% DMG.

I had a quick match yesterday with her and i got 56 eliminations, 30 streak + play of the game.

Weird that she is not very popular. But i also find her kinda boring compared to some other champions but she is better than Viktor and Tyra.

Ayoooo!
Yeah, I totally agree.
She melts faces if left undisturbed in the backfield.

I have read that people don't rate her at all tho :/
Perhaps she is a good choice on consoles but not as good on PC.
If im Flanked I always feel I have a fighting chance with her.

Chronos is a sure bet for most champions, but can be a bit of a waste on those with few cooldowns, or few cooldowns of any consequence. The likes of Strix or Viktor would get more out of other yellows, probably nimble/master rider and morale boost, respectively.

I find nimble to be super useful, especially on console. Loads of people tend to miss their attacks if you're strafing. It helps keep your movements unpredictable and makes characters like Cassie and Maeve much more likely to miss fail to land their shots.

It's useful if you're playing a damage or flank, against any team comp that features characters with powerful burst damage single-shot attacks. So, against Kinessa, Cassie, Maeve, Drogoz, Shalin etc.

It's especially useful for characters like Cassie who can more effectively peak corners, or characters like Moji who can use it to stop people escaping his damage.

She's pretty bad if your team have wrecker. So if there's another incentive to buy it (Makoa, Fernado etc) then she can find herself very vulnerable.

Ended up not finishing the first battle pass. Contemplated buying crystals just to finish it, but I couldn't justify paying £28 for two skins and a purple chest.

I spent 200 crystals to get three levels and get the Jenos skin, but Grok isn't a character I play, so I can cope without the skin. If I was going to spend £20 on a skin, I'd spend it on the Lex skin that you get from Paladin's Strike.

I did buy a code on ebay for the Hi Rez Expo skins recently though. That cost $15 and came with Cold Snap Strix, as well as a few, more basic skins for other characters.
