The media conglomerate announced Tuesday that it is reviving the children's television series for a 26-episode greenlight at cable network Nickelodeon and greenlighting a new live-action feature film featuring CGI characters for Paramount Players.

The TV series and movie will include new adventures with original characters Tommy, Chuckie, Phil, Lil, Susie and Angelica while also introducing a new world of characters.

Nah. It was pretty garbage after the second movie and then there's the sequel series.

Eh, this one of the weaker shows Nick had tbh.

I would have done As told by Ginger before this really.

Didn't the voice actress for Chuckie pass away a couple of years ago? I doubt they're gonna give them all the same voice actors anyway. I can't see this being good at all, especially since they said it's gonna be CG.

Nickelodeon? What are you doing?

Making a Rugrats Revival.

It's 2018, why on earth are you making a Rugrats Revival?

Because I've lost control of my life.

Hey speaking of Revivals, when the fuck are we getting the new Rocko's modern life movie?

I would have done As told by Ginger before this really.

There has never been a better time to have something like As Told By Ginger, specially if the legends about what Courtney's character was originally conceived as are true.

Paul Germain is coming back, that dude hasn't been involved with the show since it originally ended back in 1994. He actually dismissed everything afterwards in some interview from a while back IIRC. So hopefully it'll be decent.

If they just get rid of Dill then I'm sold. Hated him so much.

I used to watch that show a lot, but I never heard about this. What Legends were there?

So I'm not alone in thinking Angelica probably destroyed lives once she grew up right?

Straight up, she was a psychopath in that series.

Rumour has it that the explanation for why Courtney was so obsessed with Ginger was that she had a crush on her and part of her character arc was gonna be about coming to terms with her homosexuality but executives didn't let them go there.

I was legit just wondering if they would bring this back. I'll probably hate it but I'll give it a chance.

Damn, that would have been a good facet to that character.

As a huge fan of the original 3 seasons and both films (I even made a thread here on the Paris one!)

No.

No no no no.

It had it's time. It went way beyond it's course. It even had two spinoffs.

Unless they bring back the original writers and team from the show's original run where it wasn't written down for kids, this will only be a repackaged version of the shitty post season 3 show.

I wonder if they'll kill Stu off or recast him. If they recast, hopefully they do a better than than when Grandpa's actor died.

Original creators Arlene Klasky, Gábor Csupó and Paul Germain will return for the Nickelodeon series as executive producers. Production on the new animated series is already underway in Burbank, with casting, a premiere date and more announced in the coming months.
