The think Musk saying he will give you a "singed dollar" is pretty terrible. His ego must be sky high.

He is doing some great work, maybe after he gets people to mars he can look back on all his stupid tweets.

This one goes out to all my little stans.
2XJVLsr.gif

I don't want to equate the below with what Elon Musk said as Musk is in the wrong to assume anything about this guy. He needs to apologize ASAP. With that said:

When I lived in Thailand for a couple months, it was a bit alarming the amount of ~50 year old Australian guys with very young women (possibly underaged) with them.
So you say he is in the wrong and needs to apologise, and then in the next breath you continuing Musk's narrative.
So KHarvey16 is like Musk's Renfield?
NtUg6k9.gif

I think Elon Musk is a good argument that if Tony Stark existed in real life, he'd be a fucking weaseldick.
Stark is a former arms dealer. That's all the proof you need for him being a cunt.
Normal people also don't criticize someone trying to help by telling them to shove a submarine up their arse.
Yes, because the two things are morally comparable
Prove it or go fuck yourself. Simple enough right?

Also for the mod that reads this, consider who you're going to warn/ban. Someone who says the word fuck , or someone who accuses people of being stans with no proof.
The cognitive dissonance is astounding.
Whyyy are you so angry lol? Why not just say "I'm not an Elon Stan" and move on.
They're living up to their idol's example.

I don't understand this, honest. If Musk truly believes that, and I suppose there's no need for an if considering his pedo insult, then he truly really lack self awareness of any kind.

Sure, but that is no big secret. He is good with tech, poor with humans.

Imagine if you are one of the engineers on the team that was building that capsule. Your work ends up contributing nothing to the rescue and folks openly mock you. Not a fun situation.

It's such a poorly-chosen insult (he could easily have just called the dude a jackass and moved on) though that the entire above thought has no value. He should apologise and it will be saddening if he does not.

I mean it's not like the dude insult all the work and engineering that went into creating that submarine, I really doubt he even intended to insult the people who worked on that. He insulted Elon who, uninvited, suddenly tried to make use of the tragedy to create a story about how much of an amazing guy he is. If we are talking about insulting, that's the biggest insult of them all, especially considering how the dude and the rest of his team are getting dirty risking their life right there in the deathzone, and suddenly here comes a billionaire trying to make a good PR out of the situation, which is pretty disgusting.

"Shove it up his arse" is very tame insult compared to what Elon tried to do. If I am him, my insult would be much more severe.

I'd not insult Musk at all in that situation, SpaceX tried to help and didn't get anywhere in time. It is in poor taste to attack them, especially after the kids/coach have been successfully saved.

But Musk made the situation worse for no good reason.

I just read a large Twitter thread from someone working for organisations helping in case of disasters and she explained why Musk's ivolvement was so toxic. The things helpers hate more than anything is unnecessary attention and influence from the outside, and celebrities trying to help and diverting any ressources away from the immediate rescue effort having possibly tragic effects. What if some influential Thai authority liked that a celeb such as Musk wanted to insert himself and wanted to rather go with his plan because, hey, it's Elon Musk after all, torpeduing the immediate rescue effor that was already on its way. You can be absolutely guaranteed that the divers and personel already busy saving these children had to spent several hours arguing with people about the Musk issue. It's a disctraction that obviously nobody wants to call out - it IS Elon Musk after all and he just wants to help - but it's still a distraction and one that could have tragic consequences if the wrong person would have gotten enarmoured by it.

If anyone has that thread on hand, would be very thankful for a link.

Disagree, it's warranted, though I need to make a correction, it's not "them" the dude was attacking, it's Musk himself, for again, trying to insert himself into a tragedy for good PR while people are risking their life in there. It's disgusting, and that insult is not at all in poor taste, it's a deserved one.

Playing the deck above eh Elon.

We knew he wasn't a people guy but FFS he needs someone between him and Twitter!
Sue the shit out of him. Can't keep with this 'Rich people can say whatever the fuck they want' trajectory.

I'm a huge Space X fan and like(d) Tesla motors and his solar work but fuck this. Garbage human being.

The only good thing about Hollywood making a Thai cave boys rescue movie is now they have a perfect villain in the form of a publicity-hungry billionaire who will stop at nothing to try and make them use his toy death submarine.

I'm imagining a performance similar to the restaurant owner in Ant-Man and the Wasp

Agreed with this, for all we know, Musk propagating himself as the white savior for PR reasons could have made an already dire situation much worse. Comes off as really insensitive too.

"stick his submarine where it hurts" was what Unsworth actually said for the record -- same thing, but more sensitively worded than Musk deserved. :p

As an aside, Star Trek Discovery probably dated itself already implying that he'd be remembered positively.

I'm not a fan of shit-piling on celebrities for their faults, it leans into that gross bitchy gossip column bullshit, but calling someone a pedo is pretty nasty insult I must say, crossed a line.

British cave diver considering legal action over Elon Musk's 'pedo' attack
Vernon Unsworth 'astonished and very angry' after Tesla owner makes baseless remark

"I believe he's called me a paedophile," he said. "I think people realise what sort of guy [Musk] is."

Asked if he would consider taking legal action against Musk, he told reporters: "Yes, it's not finished."

Rage tweeting gonna get expensive

Im a big fan of Tesla Motors and Space X. I drive a Model X and its an amazing car. But shit, Elon, you fucked up here.. Big time. He should get sued and feel some impact from this. One can only hope he learns. And he needs to stay off social media. Like so many other celebs etc.

I don't have the thread but this is entirely true. I'm just repeating myself but "trying to help" doesn't mean anything when your help can lead to casualties. There were so many people in the original thread going off on "at least he tried, what did u do????", but safety operations relying on the knowledge and expertise of professionals aren't there to try, they're here to act. I hope the diver will shove his sub where it counts and blast it off to space.

Remember all the divers put their life on the line to help those kids. Can you imagine how he feels to hear some egomaniac billionaire constantly talking about how his toy could do the same.

As far as I understand it, he would still have needed the divers to basically drag the submarine through the cave. It wasn't self-propelled; it was basically just an airtight metal tube with a boy inside that the divers would have had to manhandle between the rocks. It seems like it was a hugely over-designed solution to a problem that ended up being solved by giving each boy a scuba mask and tank and have a trained diver lead them out one by one.

Hope the diver sees some money over this shit

Money is always nice but it's such a drop in the bucket for musk he doesn't learn or really get punished for that. Part of the settlement should give him to go make a public retraction and apology on Twitter that includes him admitting being wrong and not being helpful. Something that really bruises his ego and for the world to see

Just a few days ago in an article from Bloomberg:

"I have made the mistaken assumption—and I will attempt to be better at this—of thinking that because somebody is on Twitter and is attacking me that it is open season," he said in an hour-long interview with Bloomberg Businessweek for this week's cover story. "That is my mistake. I will correct it."

Yeah. About that...

Pretty funny since Elon's girlfriend looks like a teenager.

I didn't think about that. That does make it more ironic.

I still can't believe Elon managed to make himself the Villain of the future cave movie, when trying to be the hero. He needs a triple dose of fucking humility.

Obsessive fan, from the Eminem song "Stan"
Holy crap. Is THAT where it's from?? Goddamnit. It makes so much sense now...
