I just got home. People were screaming and cheering through the streets and it was full of France supporters which was great. The street I was on had mostly france supporting bars so it was awesome after winning seeing a bunch of people walking through the streets honking and cheering.

This one guy looked like he was going to high five me so I lifted my hands up and then he just walked past me lol my group was weirded out and I was a little embarassed but some really cute guy came back who had seen it and high fived me in response to it. It was so great but since it was early after getting some food we decided to head home. So much fun!

Edit: I didn't realize I missed a lot of posts while celebrating so I went and edited them into my original celebration. Thanks everyone! <3

And to get back on that topic one last time, the only thing I was semi arguing about was what I called a "literal dive"
It's just that overselling or looking for contact is so common and even something you're taught as a youth that I wanted to make the distinction between that and my "literal dive" when you're diving when there's no contact at all.

I'll happily concede that it's a flawed definition and that he did dive to get the contact he wanted though :)

I know people on the champs Elysees etc. and I'm over here on holidays in bumfuck, the Alps, I haven't even heard honking.
I'm with friends thankfully so we're celebrating but I wish I could be with everyone else too :p

This has certainly been the best WC since 2002. Argentina blew it last time they had it. So many missed opportunities from Leo and Higuaín.

Damn that sucks lol the atmosphere of people all around celebrating was amazing.

I've been looking on youtube for celeberation videos. I saw a live one from France but I'm trying to find some videos in Vancouver celebrating.

You don't need VAR for this. They do it in rugby and it is separate from the TMO (Television Match Official), which is the equivalent of VAR. Just have a refereeing panel review match incidents and include simulation with things like violent conduct. I believe that the Premier League already do this.

You know what I love? This final had everything special about this World Cup. Own goal, VAR, High Scoring, Penalties leading to goals, Diving and it's own special touch of field invasion. Then we can't forget the goalie mistakes and Giroud managing nothing.

Was a decent final. Croatia played some good football.

Probably one of the better world cups in recent times.

Just finished watching it.

It was a very entertaining Final. Fitting end to a very fun to watch World Cup. I would definitely rank this World Cup way above 2010 and 2014. Probably the most fun to watch World Cup since 2002.

Congrats to the French team, that's scary a team, so much depth.

Congrats to Croatia, they were my favorite team of the Cup next to Japan.

Favorite players of the Tournament: Mbappe + Griezmann, Modric + Rakitić, Hazard + Meunier, Cavani + Godín, Inui + Kagawa, Herrera + Vela.

it was over at 3.30 AM and i had to wake up at 6 AM to go to work.

im sleep deprived, at work, but im glad i stayed up to watch the final. grats france!

was a great world cup! and a great final! very intense, good play from both teams and i'm really pleased to see the after match's outstanding sportsmanship from the players, coaches, and fans. amazing atmosphere!

Sure you'd expect a striker to score (or just shoot on target..) but I wouldn't say he's some useless bum either
He's the only guy we have that can play physical with the defense, you can play long on him and he does a good job being the first defender
Sure I'd rather have Kane but he's all we got...

We were worse when we tried Dembelé-MBappé-Griezmann
