This is a reason for organizations like NASA. Where endeavors into space exploration are shared accomplishments with the people involved and the nation not the elevation of an icon at the diminishment of the efforts of all others and the nation that provides the opportunity.

I never argued Elon was a good person who never acts like an asshole and should be worshipped. That's the commonly used attempt to poison the well used by some who can't construct coherent arguments. My positions on specific past actions he's been criticized for was never motivated by my opinions about him as a person.

So at what point do the boards of SpaceX and Tesla push this hack out and continue developing independently? I mean, I'm sure that's happening already but he is damaging the brand of two companies who are actually doing good things for society, rather than being a dick on Twitter.

It's not as if anything of value is lost by realizing that Musk is a shithead. He doesn't create anything, or invent anything; he just tells engineers what he wants, pours money down a tube until an invention pops out the other end, and claims credit.

His contribution to the process is equivalent to Homer Simpson designing a car.

Well I really love what he's done with Tesla and SpaceX. And I read his bio a few years ago. I knew he was an asshole but did not think he was this batshit crazy.

Just a reminder that, not too long ago, Elon Musk was talking about setting up an organization that would "rate" the news to determine it is fake. I think that this is a great example on why it is so dangerous to put something like that in the hands of any individual.

The state already hands out free water filters to families in Flint. It doesn't change the fact that all of the pipes in the city need to be replaced.

Musk not understanding that at the outset just shows how much of an armchair philanthropist he can be at times.
