WHAT? The One Plus 6, which is based on the R15 Plus and has the flagship CPU instead of the midrange one is 520€ for 6GB/64GB and 560€ for 8GB/128GB in the official store. They definitely dun goofed somewhere.
OPPO clearly wants to present themselves as a premium brand and the audience their targetting probably doesn't care about specs.

But still, for the same price as the R15 Plus you can get an entry level Samsung Galaxy S9.

I started for me this morning, and both the S8/Note 8 subreddits have a thread on it.

I just moved over to Facebook Lite until it gets figured out.

Also, I work for a Verizon store and I just had a customer come in with a Pixel hanging the same issue.

I'm pretty sure it's a problem on Facebook's back end with how the app works.
You mean the Facebook Lite app that needs ALL permissions to your data or it won't work?

I'd rather not use Facebook than use that. They harvested my data the short time I had it. Suddenly people showed up as recommended people a day after installing it.

While the battery on the upcoming Note 9 will be much better than the battery on the Note 8, it may come at a big cost: Fast charging.

Galaxy Note 9's Big Battery Has A Serious Shortcoming

After the first hands-on review of the Galaxy Note 9 broke over a month before release, you'd think we knew everything. But no, one of the industry's most prolific industry insiders has revealed Samsung is hiding a nasty surprise just below the surface…

That insider is the ever-prolific, ever-mysterious Ice Universe. The tipster who broke the Galaxy Note 8, attained the first Galaxy S8 real world photos and dissected the Galaxy S9 long before its official release, has learnt the Galaxy Note 9's massive battery increase is not all it's cracked up to be.

In a new series of tweets, Ice Universe states:

"The Samsung Note9's battery is 4000mAh, but its charging specifications have not improved. Like the S7/S8/S9, the EP-TA200 charger has a maximum power of 10W. This is the slowest charging speed in the world except for iPhone. How long does 4000mAh take?"

It's a fair point. The leaker also points out that while theoretical values could be higher than 10W, it's a Samsung decision to limit to this figure. Why would Samsung do this when most rivals are now fast charging at 18W while Dash Charge by OnePlus hits 20W?

The answer is arguably two-fold.

Firstly, aggressive fast charging can dramatically impact the capacity and lifespan of batteries. Given Samsung's well-publicised Galaxy Note 7 battery problems and its subsequent promise phones will retain 95% of their battery capacity after two years (most rivals claim circa 70%), limited charging speed could be a crucial reason why the company can deliver this.

Secondly, since the Galaxy Note 9's battery is approximately 20% larger than the Galaxy Note 8 and it is claimed to last up to two days, Samsung may believe aggressive fast charging is unnecessary.

That said, no matter how big the battery, there will always be a time you are ready to leave only to find your smartphone battery is low. And this is where the Galaxy Note 9 and its likely 2.5 hours of charging time will fall short.

Ironically, this problem actually fits in with Samsung's wider strategy for the Galaxy Note 9: More is More. The new phone will have a larger display, more storage and more RAM. But not every gain is good news: there's also extra weight, additional thickness and now longer charge times.

indeed, 30m on 4000mah Huawei gets you to 58% but on a 4000mah with Sam's charging speed, it would be around 35%

i thought people wanted additional weight and thickness

why are they even pretending to care about thickness and weight anyway? the S9 was thicker and heaver (and shorter and wider) and all everyone said was "it's the same as last year, you could call it the S8S lol"

I'll take the bigger battery and slower charging. Charging wireless every night is my ideal use case. All I need is a phone that can get me through the day, even a heavy use day. Me having to have a cable with me and chargers at work and having to keep an eye on my battery is the only major flaw on my s8.

nah man, they want it thin, the thinner the better, (almost) everyone making a con out of the thickness and weight of the XZ2 should tell you want they really want.

Yeah I miss dash charging.

But I got wireless chargers everywhere at home and at work so my note 8 is pretty much always topped up.

Wasn't there some leaks of Samsung stepping up on speed for their wireless charger?

The weight of the S9+ is one of the reasons I'm selling it and went back to my Moto Z Play.

If the battery had been good enough to justify the weight I might have been OK with it, but it was heavy AND barely lasted a whole day.

I don't buy Samsung phones, but I thought they supported "adaptive fast charging" (isn't this licensed and rebranded Qualcomm Quick Charge?) at 25W.

Did they drop support for this?

Edit: wow it looks like they did, after the S6 generation. Guess they didn't want to pay Qualcomm those license fees?

its more like it needs to work with their exynos phones too. But all that shit will fast charge your samsung phone just fine.

Snapdragon s8/s9/ note 8 works with 'adaptive fast charge', USB-C PD, quick charge 2, 3.

Not pinnacle speeds, but liveable.

I bought an Aukey 30000 Powerbank with USB-C PD. At this point charging isn't even an issue for anything anymore. Just hooking up whatever gadget needs power for a little while gives enough juice to last until the next outlet.

So they dropped it only for the Exynos phones? I thought the whole point of licensing the patents and rebranding it was so that they could implement it on the Exynos phones.

What's a good app or site to download wallpaper for my phone? Just went from Samsung to Oneplus, and I want to customise my phone.

On that note, any good source for icons?

https://unsplash.com

It's a great website for high res photography which you can use for wallpapers.

In general finding wallpaper these days is a PITA cause screens on high end phones, laptops, and monitors mean generic 1080p wallpaper doesn't cut it anymore.

Google needs to make a Pixelbook that is more Surface Go and less Surface Pro.

Basically something premiumish sorts like the Samsung Chromebooks that are like $499 not $999.

$199 would be my fuck it price. I don't have an Amex though. Extra 20% off if you do. I'm just going to reserve funds to get a cheap current gen GPU

Texted a friend of mine about the Essential Phone deal.
She has an S7 Edge that has been in the process of dying for over a year I think, haha. The screen used to flash uncontrollably, now it just does it occasionally, but the battery dies really fast.

I'd go for it myself, but I genuinely don't have a use for another Android phone. Z Play is still treating me very well, and I still need to sell my S9 (waiting for the bill to go through so I can request to unlock it from T-mo).

Such a sexy phone.

Damn it is 7.1.1 September 2017 update.

Guess it never had a second shipment lol.

Seems solid so far. Great build and design. Sexiest phone I've own yet. Especially for $250.Doing many updates though.

Vibration motor sucks
