It's marketed by Nintendo and also published in the West by Nintendo, so it's not likely imo. Will this ever come out on other platforms? is there even a chance?

That's good but I don't get why they didn't just do it like Chrono Trigger or something.
Right now exploring is really difficult and frustrating, I'm not having a good time at all tbh. The battle system is really good but they've brought over my least favourite aspect of 90s JRPG.
NIntendo did publish it outside of Japan so I doubt it. Unless SE and Nintendo struck some sort of deal. Will this ever come out on other platforms? is there even a chance?

Nah, as we've seen with Capcom, you can easily lose Nintendo's support in publishing if you wrong them. If Nintendo and SE agreed that Octopath is exclusive then it probably needs to remain that for SE to get that juicy support in the future.I doubt they will but there would be nothing to stop SE publishing it themselves
It's high enough when walking as well, but tbf it was only that canyon area that gave me any grief. Afterwards it was easier but it was hard to see where to go and the constant interruptions didn't help. Are you running? I've noticed a pretty sizeable increase in encounter rate when running
Yeah, but then you meet enemies that are neither weak to sword or spear and you're like welp guess I'll just attack whatever and build up BP.Started as Olberic and dude is a fucking tank. At like 1000hp already at level 14 and enemies don't seem to damage him much. Gear really makes the characters.
Man, battles are long enough as is, i need Haanit. Hell im making someone in my group also get the Hunter class.Yeah, but then you meet enemies that are neither weak to sword or spear and you're like welp guess I'll just attack whatever and build up BP.
Just met H'aanit and she's definitely the most easy mode. She has access to sword, spear, axe, bow and lightning. She can heal and if the boss is weak to bows, she can break 5/6 defenses by herself with her rain arrow skill if she has decent enough accuracy.
Probably gonna ditch her since I don't the game to be TOO easy.
Played another three hours today and got all eight characters. This game is really, really good. I think I'm going to level all of them up to at least 20 and get better equipment and then do Chapter 2. BTW, what's a good solution to ensure Cyrus doesn't run out of SP as often as he does now? I don't like skipping character turns to use plums on him and Ophilia doesn't have any SP spells.
Thanks again! You want to be scrutinizing (or Alfyn's equivalent which can't fail but is LV-based) everything. Besides the interesting backstories and hidden items, you sometimes gain special information that shows up in your inventory & can be used in quests, as well as bonuses that affect the town like "Stealing is easier" and "The store has new equipment." Challenging, on the other hand, you only need to do it when it's the solution to a quest or if the character is blocking a door.
Saw some complaints about needing to grind from reviewers and I'm not seeing it as long as you're thorough with sidequests & exploration and aren't OCD about keeping trying to keep everybody's LVs even. I thought I'd go around unlocking the secondary jobs before doing chapter 2 and I'm already in my mid-20s on my main party.
In my experience you just continue to gather all kinds of random shit by playing and then sometime you find a NPC and a cutscene will trigger and a sidequest you didn't even know exist got completed. Thanks again!
Yea so far I haven't have the need to grind, I've been exploring almost every corner and usually hit the level required just nice.
Anyway I just bought this House Landar Records for 6k from an old man, can't find any info about it, what does it do.

You should kind of hold out for balance assessments. A character getting 6,7,8,9,10 types isn't that unusual, due to sub-classing, etc.
That's a good advise, gonna just keep doing that (that's how I completed the king recipe thing). In my experience you just continue to gather all kinds of random shit by playing and then sometime you find a NPC and a cutscene will trigger and a sidequest you didn't even know exist got completed.
Yeah, the problem with Olberic is that he only has swords and spears to break defenses, though Tressa's Pass BP ability matches up well with Olberic's AOE skills to speed up battles.Man, battles are long enough as is, i need Haanit. Hell im making someone in my group also get the Hunter class.
The problem with Cyrus is, while he has high burst, his spells only break defenses one time, unless you use the lvl. 2 spells but those are 22SP. So you need someone else to break defenses for him.Battles aren't long when you have a Cyrus that can easily be boosted to do 10k damage in a few turns. :p and I've not even optimized a party, just rotate to keep everyone evenly levelled behind him.
Where's the Knight Sword? What are some useful things Therion can steal? Already got the Golden Axe, Knight Sword and Imperial Spear.
Oh shit, you can boost and capture?
Anyone know why Caits keep dodging all my attacks? I'm even using weapon types that are effective.
You can steal it from an NPC in the southernmost area of Victor's Hollow.
Me too. I can't tell if it's just that since I'm running it feels like I'm getting to random encounters faster or what lolAre you running? I've noticed a pretty sizeable increase in encounter rate when running
Yeah it's also the low angle in some sections combined with bloom and blur that contribute to getting lost in some areas. For me anyway.Played this for a bit. Started with Cyrus. The music is lovely!
But OH MY GOD tone down the depth of field effect. It's way too strong. They're blurring shit just a few feet in the foreground. Reminds me of 3D Dot Game Heroes, and not in a good way.
I one case there was this fisherman in Alfyn's town lamenting the issues with the fish population in the river.
I walk out of town and see this other fisherman guy who's description says he's a poaching asshole. Without giving it much thought I beat him up.
Turns out it that solved the other fisherman's plight.
Me too. I can't tell if it's just that since I'm running it feels like I'm getting to random encounters faster or what lol
Im enjoying the little stories and the world as a whole. I came into this not expecting a generic over arching jrpg plot and Im vastly enjoying my time

ofc, just speculation.
