Huh, my bet was on September for an Eevee community day, so it would take the next "starter slot" in the community day rotation.
Two days is nice, that way everyone has enough chances to catch shinies for every Eeveelution. It would be nice if they reset the name trick too, so everyone can guarantee their evolutions. Maybe even make it unlimited useage during the event. At the very least we have trading now though, so there's that.
Questions:
1) How will they do exclusive moves? One for Eevee, or one for every Eeveelution?
2) Odds on getting the remaining Eeveelutions that weekend? I'd say they're quite good for Leafeon and Glaceon, but Sylveon would be interesting given how early it would be.

Also Lugia raids this weekend! I'm probably one of few people excited for that. But it'll be nice since I still don't have a Lugia, plus it'll be replayable because shinies. Also this pretty much rules out Lugia being the Ultra Reward imo.
Wouldn't mind trying to a Shiny Lugia, even though I'll only be able to play Sunday.

I average around 6-7 per CD. By that math:
12-14 total eevee, -3 new eeveelutions to come (assuming they all get nickname tricks so you can guarantte them) -2 espeon/umbreon (who can be guaranteed)= 5-7 rolls to get each 3. That's not too bad when you consider that none of Eevee's Gen 1 evolutions are meta relevant and this event will be after most people get their first ultra friends, reducing new shiny costs to 1,600.
I'll be there on Sunday, and I fully plan on asking every single person who talks to me for a Relicanth/Tropius/Kangaskhan
Summary thus far:
Everyone:
Alolan Diglett and Geodude all weekend
Plusle and Minun shiny rates boosted, likely on the same level as Roselia a couple weeks ago
Lugia raids replace Regice for a weekend
Increased spawns of Pokemon at Go Fest such as Trapinch and Feebas
Complete research tasks to earn extra candy next week
Chicago only:
Special Pokemon and Raids
Go Fest only:
Two entrances with team lounges. This is where most the food is. Contests with giveaways held on the half hour.
Meet ups with Youtubers
Exclusive Pokemon: Torkoal, Unown
4 habitats with their own special spawns. These are also decorated irl.
50+ Species of Pokemon
Photos with the team leaders, Pikachu, and Eevee
IRL Pokestops that are also entrances/charging stands
A special research quest that varies slightly depending on entrance, where you go through catching Pokemon from the different habitats. Finishing it seemingly rewards a Celebi. Since this has to be different from the upcoming special research everyone gets, this may be a way of getting two Celebi
That's only confirmed stuff too, there's very possibly more to come. Something with Scizor seems likely as it has some code for a 200 stadust bonus for some reason.
Oh, and Tropius/Relicanth are by far the most wanted trades on the various discords, so if you bring either of those, you can basically trade them for anything you want.
Actually, the odds aren't too bad. There will be people coming from out of the country, people who have traveled to out of the country, and people who have traded with those people. In addition, people who spoof aren't likely to be the types of people to go to Go Fest in person. That being said, the amount of people willing to trade these is gonna be very low, and considering that you can only do one special trade a day, and special trades for shinies or legendaries you don't have cost almost 1,000,000 stardust, the odds of actually getting one are very low. I'm still gonna try to hustle my way into one though.
The other regionals will be pretty easy to find trades for though. Kanga will probably be the hardest besides Relicanth/Tropius, but with the Anaheim event, it should be easier.

I might just buy 1500 coins... And pretty psyched for Lugia since I don't have one yet! Unfortunately busy all day tomorrow... maybe Sunday.
I'm hoping for Alolan Raichu & Alolan Marowak. They're long overdue
Good guess considering the other alolans started appearing also. Maybe also some of the gen 2 and 3 unreleased pokemon that we're found in network traffic recently?
Man... Lugia *again*? After doing like 20 rapidfire and not getting any shinies I'm kinda eh on that.
That's 4 days. I imagine the boxes will be there until at least Zapdos Day.

Really looking forward to loading up on Feebas and Trapinch over the weekend.
They'll probably remain until mid-23rd when the bonuses from this weekend's global research expire. That's what happened with the last event.
Now if someone would boot my pokemon out if the gym instead of feeding it.. .
I've been texting with Reiner and Goldfarb today who are both in Chicago for fest and I have so much FOMO now

My friends are in Chicago for Go Fest right now and I'm jealous af. Bad timing =[ Just couldn't justify flying to the midwest two weekends in a row for two different Pokemon events.
Are the boxes good, should I save my coins for that they are pretty easy to get around here.
Well got 1 shiny Plusle and 1 shiny Minun as well as Alolan Geodude and Diglett. I'm basically done with the weekend to do list unless I can somehow get a shiny Snorunt with the increased spawns.
Soooo anyone else think there are gonna be two Eevee community-days because we'll be able to evolve all Eevee into Glaceon and Leafeon during each day?
Nah, I think its just because it'll reduce complaints while increasing profits.

Plus there is a Magmar nest not far from my house. Think I'm going to farm that pretty hard in case it is candy you need to evolve it when Gen IV comes out.

Encountered a random family doing a 4* raid at like 8.45 this morning so helped them out, we won with about 3 seconds left, the lady got a 98% Golem and she was buzzing so that was well worth doing.
Got a few shiny Plusle, a decent amount of the new Geode and Diglett, evolved my Torchic all the way Blaziken, caught and evolved Slugma, caught a few Snorunt, Seedot, need one more for Treecko final form and got a second shiny Wailmer from an egg. Also got some pretty good weather boosted alolan Exeggutor that are worth keeping.
I Caught 5/6 Lugia raids and one shiny, deceeeent! Been out since 10:30 and it's been absolutely scorching so I'm done fore the day. Same again tomorrow!
