Me too, I think the forum has better QoL features and the mods are fairer.

Way more fair here though. Last place I felt like I had crosshairs for the slightest misphrasing or for disagreeing with the mass. Shit was nuts.
You log on to the old place nowadays and see that threads literally have only like 10-15 replies.

Yup it's crazy I remember it like yesterday. I was having withdrawal because I had no where to go other then discord. Flew to Hawaii and kept tabs. Then this place opened up. Life has been so much better since. That reminds me I need to go back to Hawaii to celebrate every year hahaha.
I think it is crazy when you think about the history NeoGAF had. At one point in time it was the best place for gaming discussion. One Reddit came around, I felt the community wasn't as vibrant. From about '06-'09 I felt it offered a great community with a great amount of info. Era is a nice forum, but I don't think it can come close to GAF when it was at its peak.

Yep, sure has been an amazing 12 years for ERA. Why I remember when it was just Entertainment-Reign Assembly.
Man, that event was simultaneously the best and worst thing to happen to me that weekend lmfao gave me a source of entertainment, but I hated not being able to use the site for those few days. Was going through a lot, and my usual communities were kinda all I had.
I glance at the old place once in a while, still can't believe just how far and how quickly it fell.

What needs updated with DarkERA? Is there some feature that NightERA has that DarkERA doesn't? (I haven't used DarkERA that much, don't like the narrowness)
The only thing I miss is that massive archive of old threads/reactions/info that I need to log back in and sift through in search. But I'm sure we'll have our own expansive searchable catalogue here in time.
