They aren't doing a comic book villain movie. They're doing a "man gets alien powers and is hunted by evil corporation" movie. It's basically going to be Upgrade with a parasite instead of an AI.

Keep hearing rumors that Peter Parker is in it, but not Spider-Man. Still odd.
Unfortunately it was gone from all my local theaters in 2 weeks.

Why do you feel that way? Besides the fact that his grin goes all the way up to his fuckin eyes I think the design is fine

Heh, it's always Schnepp on the Collider Heroes show. He's so adamant about it and talks like he knows for sure cause he knows people working on the movie. But again, he could be totally wrong (which he does say to his credit).
I think the best thing for this movie is to imply someway somehow that it takes place after Infinity War. I am assuming Av4 will take place on Earth, and during the confusion and chaos, the symbiote ship crash lands there and Riz Ahmed finds it. And in between Venom and Av4 will be Spiderman Far From Home and during that movie the symbiote should bond with him.
Otherwise, I'll be way less interested if this movie has 0 connection to the MCU.
If this ends up garbage (which is highly likely),iI hope it's at least a meme factory

Yeah but will sony put a Venom movie without the spider logo? I mean people associate that logo with him/it.
I just don't get it. Even if you do Agent Venom or whatever. The thing has to bond with Spider-Man so it gets Spider-Man type powers, the web, the spider-sense etc. If this is a world with no spider-man it makes no sense unless the alien bonds with a spider first

I know they can do teen Venom but that version sucks ass.
They're probably use an Ultimate-style version of their relationship rather than the one you're talking about
Still, Adult Venom is much scarier and cooler than a teenager Venom. It works in the comics but on screen it would look as silly as the one in Spider Man 3.

Not that I disagree with you! Marvel retconned it so that all symbiotes have those eyes a while ago IIRC, so he doesn't "need" Spider-Man for them.
Now, if he still has the white spider on his chest and/or back, then someone at Sony fucked up.
