It's unfortunate that the original promotion for Spyro was so full of 90's tude because the actual game is so amazingly chill.

Wow this looks cool, I never played the Spyro's growing up, but my wife who is originally from Russia did play it and she's a huge fan and she doesn't even like video games. I happened to have E3 stuff on the TV and she just glanced up from the book she was reading at the time and went OOOOOOOOOH! IS that spyro!? I guess we will pick this up and play together. :)

Are all the themes exclusive to the PlayStation Store? I can't pre-order from Best Buy and get any of the themes?
With Crash the digital preorder themes were given as a code with physical preorders here in the UK and I think in the US as well, so I'm 98% certain it will be the same case with Spyro. I have a physical preorder and I'm expecting to hear about preorder bonuses literally any time now. EB games in AU have already confirmed my assumption (physical copy special edition with steel book, keyring, art cards and the themes) so it should filter to our regions soon as well :)

My fiance is the same way. Girls love Spyro apparently.

Am also a girl, can confirm!

Are these games challenging at all and could you compare it to Banjo? Never played the Spyros.
They're pretty easy on the whole and the size of the levels never really gets to Banjo size because of the limitations of the PS1, but they're a good relaxing time if you enjoy collecting things with colourful worlds and characters

Tiki Springs looks super fun, I don't like the new voices and the UI definitely needs some fine tuning but other than that it looks fantastic.

Yeah, I got themes and avatars with my Crash pre-order. Hopefully it shows up on product pages soon, I feel weird buying digitally but I really would like the themes.

I'm hyped as hell but there's something I can't quite put my finger on that's bothering me. It looks great but some of the designs make me think of like DreamWorks animation or something.

Day 1 either way though

Day 1 baby! Probably PS4 as I assume the difference between X and Pro is minimal to nothing for this.

Well if you own an X I dont see why you wouldent get that version, I mean if you spent all the money on the X and your not going to use it, whats the point in getting the X?
There maybe people who prefer ps4 controller and trophys, but if thats the case why even bother getting a 1X.

Sorry for double post

Man that is an old quote lol! But I buy every system. My Switch and X are both for console exclusives. I got the X for the best versions of those but I will almost always buy multiplats on PS for the ecosystem to answer your question though.

Looks like Sheila's getting feminized with hair and some kind of shirt. Dunno how I feel about that. Hard to tell with Spyro's wing in the way, but I really hope the shirt isn't to cover up some kind of humanized breastage.
It looks pretty flat to me. I don't see any kind of curvature hinting at it.

Really? So hard to see her from the Tweet above.

Would have preferred something more like this tbh:

It's like they're trying to bash you across the head with "look guys she's female!!1" when her original design was tomboyish. Getting Candy Kong vibes.

Damn I have no idea how you guys can make out a tanktop but it's a bit of a bummer if it's a thing. On one hand it's nice if it helps bring about an even better design, but on the other it does reinforce an unfortunately common design dichotomy.

And like with every character I want to freak out at Bentley's new look but then realize that having actually defined features compared to triangle mouths will always be a huge jump.

Well, there's been some visual difference between cover image and actual model (see Ripto), so I think it's too early to jump onto conclusion based on low-res cover.

Ripto was more the expression and the look of his eyes though. He didn't change his hair or costume. The Sheila thing is more of a design concern. She seems like a weird character to decide to overhaul, aggravatingly so if the choice was to make her appear more typically feminine.

Your point is true, but again, it's low-res image. We can start worrying after we have a definite look at her model/concept art/etc.

Is there a more active topic for this game? A new level was shown yesterday and no one has posted it?

As we get closer, I'm starting to debate the console I'll buy it on. My heart considers this a Sony game meant to be played on a dualshock, but the X will probably have a higher resolution and iron out and run just as well or better. Watch me end up buying it for both, like I've done before, lol.

I'm thinking about buying two copies. The $40 price makes it a lot easier to consider.

I have a Pro and an S, so that makes this an easier decision for me.

Just like Crash, PlayStation is Spyro's home.

Yeah, I'll be getting it on the X unless there's no discernible difference from the Pro.

Can't wait for this, like many this was one of the 'big two' on PS1 for me along with Crash. The hardest part of playing this will be because my mum played all three to completion, something I never could do as a kid. That continued on to the Jak and Daxter series. She passed away 3 years ago and would've loved this remake.

Sounds like you need to honour your Mom by getting the platinum! That's really sweet though.

I will actually aim to do so, I finished Crash 3 for the first time in the remake, the most I managed in the original version was completing Tomb Wader for her when she got stuck but I sucked at the rest of the game so didn't make it that far.
