So I been wondering. Tressa's skills as a Merchant seems to be centered on being able to buy items from any NPC in the game, however does she have any support skills that give her a boost with selling items.

Case in point I found a Copper Lantern in the first dungeon on Olberic's quest and the item description says "Fetches a moderate sum when sold"

I figure it might be worthwhile to hold on this item until I recruit Tressa and use her abilities as a Merchant to maximize it's selling value, at least that I think would be a good idea.

This of course is only good idea if Tressa actually gets a bonus when selling items. Does she?

Not from the start. Maybe it could be one of her later passives, but the items with that description are items which only use is to be sold I think. Not really indicative of them being valuable.

Man these sprites are great but theres way too much fucking post processing.
They look so much better in the save screen.

I like how side quests are done in this, using some of the characters skills you have you will be able to get more info about them, there also isn't a marker on the map telling you where to go.

Even if there is a hidden final dungeon, I doubt the story elements will add much to the game, otherwise Nintendo would alert publications and the devs would at least hint at it. Still, it's better than nothing and I'm curious to see the findings in the next few days.

I fell in sleep on the couch with the controllers in my hand yesterday lol. The game is really good. We really need more of these kind of style games. Even though there are lots of jrpg's this one feels like a different genre within jrpg's

Lol, fantastic. I woke up today with the battle music playing in my head. Eagerly awaiting getting done with everything today so I can get back to it.

Can somebody tell me (without soilers):

- does this game have ost/end game dungeons, side dungeons for exloration and so on?
Like side stuff in FFXII

Its my cu of tea - love side exlorations (not forced by the story)

or this is hard story driven jrg (with few to none free exlorations; like Im Setsuna)

It's very, very much the former. It's essentially a non-linear open-world 16-bit JRPG, where you can choose which protagonist's story to progress at any time.

Do we know how meaty it is? Is this just a throwaway dungeon or is it a few hours of story? 10 hours of story?

We don't know how meaty the dungeon itself is. There are decently lengthy quest chains.

Not that I know of.

I haven't read any major spoilers about what actually happens (not even sure if they're out there yet), but even knowing the OST track titles that they hid for months is enough to start piecing things together from the Chapter 1s.

OK, so started as icon Primrose and then went to Olberic and I liked how you find the other characters in the middle of their Prologue quest and they asking if you could help them.

And after that decided to go back and do a sidequest in Prim town in which a creep was harrasing a woman and I beat him using Olberic "Challenge" skill and now that lady is going on her own adventure... and the sidequest said something like "Part 1" and I heard there is other ways to deal with it.

I am in love with the game O_O

EDIT: Oh, and recently got Alfyn and his concoction skill is so good and intuitive to use~

Started as Tressa, love her voice acting.
Man, what a sweet game. Enjoying everything about it so far, it's extremely rare that I will even touch a turn based game but I love the combat.

Jesus the random battles get a good bit more difficult after I got 4 characters. Doing less and less damage and taking a lot more.

Stealing from people in this game is so messed up.

It's such good world-building.

Is there any information on if there is content that needs all eight characters to unlock? I'm seriously considering doing two playthroughs with a different party of 4 on each.

Also, am I way off for thinking that the best starting character is Primrose due to the XP boost ability? It does sound like something you would always want to have in the party at least.

Ummm, in Olberic's town there is an NPC that talks about a merchant of spices and in Primrose town there is that merchant that talks about the quality of his spices and I kind of want to allure him and make the trip to see if I get some reaction.

Probably not but is a cool little bit of worldbuilding between towns.

Stuff like that are probably related to a side quest somewhere, but if there are no quest indicators for it, you probably can't do anything with the NPCs just yet. I've notice a lot of connecting tissue between towns like that.

Bit of a cross roads here folks.

I just finished Olberic's prologue and leaving town for the first time. I originally was planning to take the OCTO route

In my case it is Olberic > Cyrus > Therion > Ophelia, but I'm not sure if I want to wait that long until I get Ophelia as a healer.

So maybe I'll just get Ophelia and then Cyrus afterwards.

Could you provide some details on that, give an example? Behind a spoiler tag of course.
Okay, but i feel like even just realising this is how you complete them is a spoiler.
So you might meet a woman who wants to up her stage game.
  • You could buy/steal a new dress off a famous dancer you find out about via investigation
  • You could provoke infront of houses door, then go inside and steal the dress

Ophelia was my fourth character and I didn't have a problem with healing.

I'm torn. I want this game because the music is great and I want a traditional JRPG on my Switch.

But the artstyle is distracting. Too blurry for me :(

Reading all of you makes the wait unbearable !

As soon as I finish work, I'll buy the game.
I'm also doing the Rogue path first except Cyrus Main.
It's awesome. I didn't expect I'd like the game as much.

Deal with that other game fast then. And you're foribidden to play Splatoon inbetween.

Yes, that's how it is.

Just started with Therion and about an hour into the game.

Holy shit I'm in love. What a game.

Graphics, Music (oh the Music!), a battle system I love (always adored turn based) and a difficulty that's not hand holdey that modern JRPGs seem to do.

Everything I wanted to far tbh.

Quick question. Chance to steal in battle increases as the enemy weakens correct?

Really loving this game so far. Recruiting everyone first, then deciding what the hell am I gonna do for a party. Having more trouble deciding than I thought.

Was talking to my mom about the game since she's a big JRPG fan (just wrapping up a 200 something hour playthrough of DQ8) and now she's off to buy her own copy, lol.

Oooooh shit, found a job shrine! I could tell I might have been a bit off the beaten path to begin with though, since the area I was in had a new battle theme entirely from.the one I was used to.

I love that they're just out there for you to find.

can anyone confirm whether blurriness can be toned down or not?

I like the game but the blurriness is turning me off a lot. Things should not be blurred when they're right in front of the character.

Alas, I'm in a small village in Greece right now and cannot get the game. Thought maybe an uncle could get it in the city before he came out to us, but I suppose the shipment was late. So, likely won't be able to buy it until I get back to the states on Tuesday.

At least I have Hollow Knight to keep me company.
