It was filmed and it's being used for unknown purposes. Given Takahashi's comments regarding new updates from earlier today, it seems like Nintendo is starting another marketing push for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

I noticed the chairs were themed to Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Toad.

Obviously this means new 3D World based DLC. Please be excited for Boom Boom, Pom Pom, and Sprixies to join Mario Kart 8.

There is a very fantastical 4chan post saying there will be an upcoming Direct very soon and that MK8D info will contain new tracks and characters.

Although I'm pretty sure we heard Nintendo say they were going to add some new things to MK8D before that rumor surfaced.

Nintendo and Universal seem to have start doing collaborative events ahead of Nintendo Land. It makes sense.

Have them do more and more marketing events to gain interest of the non gaming public about Nintendo and build hype for Universal's new land.

Real talk, though: While on one hand I would love new MK8D tracks, or even an expansion, I would also be a little concerned that it would be an indication that the next mainline Mario Kart is far away. It's been over four years since MK8 launched.

That is so fake. Beyond being too much to have in a 30 min direct (lol Mother 3D) but it lists Cuphead for Switch. That is literally never happening. I believe they have a deal with Xbox

This might also only be for a commercial that focuses on the Nintendo online line-up.

They don't have new titles for that until Smash is out in December. I don't believe in New tracks yet.
