It'll be nice to have The Joel McHale Show back again. Fucking sucks that it's not weekly. The Soup was on almost every single week of the year.
There's only the five of them, and there is an omnibus of them that tends to go for very reasonable rates so I snagged them up a while back so I could get punched in the gut some more this summer.Does anyone know if Patrick Melrose has any further books to cover? No spoilers, it felt concluded to me at the end, but I could be wrong.
HBO's forthcoming late-night series Random Acts of Flyness from artist Terence Nance is set to debut its six-episode season on Aug. 3. The show will air every Friday at midnight ET/PT and give a new, thought-provoking perspective on cultural idioms such as patriarchy, white supremacy, and, as shown in the video below, sensuality.
A fluid, mind-melting stream-of-conscious response to the contemporary American mediascape, each episode of Random Acts of Flyness will feature interconnected vignettes that makes a series a unique mix of vérité documentary, musical performances, surrealist melodrama and humorous animation. Nance has collaborated with a cast of emerging talent to explore themes such as ancestral trauma, history, death, the singularity, and romance to give audiences something never seen before. Nance, who is known for his envelope-pushing films seen at Sundance, describes the show as "a show about the beauty and ugliness of contemporary American life."
Earp is worth giving a shot. I binged the first season on Netflix and liked it. Buffy meets the west is a very apt description of it. It is a lot of Earp dealing with supernatural shit that happens in and around her town.I'm sort of viewing The Outpost from afar, hoping it ends up being the next The 100. Meaning elevating its inherent low budget cheesiness by being both fun and vicious in equal measure.
Anyone else think Wynonna Earp is worth trying/catching up on? Syfy has surprisingly a bunch of shows in the past few years I've loved so I am intrigued. Is it too much for me to hope for it to be a good Buffy style western? Should I temper my expectations? I don't see a thread on it around.
Dance puppet, dance!I'm here to yell at berzeli for ruining my day off with Zoo. That show is trash and I can't stop watching it.
That's the thing, when watching it, even when you know that things will get crazier, you still are just baffled and amazed in equal quantities at what transpires.I'm in only in S1 and can't believe anything that is going on in that show and it sounds like it gets crazier.
re: Claws S2 E4that twist with Quiet Ann's parents was amazing lmao
Over the last three years, while allocating more than $2 billion a year to its programming, the network has made nearly $6 billion in profit. But if it is to compete with upstart rivals like Netflix, which plans to lay out some $8 billion this year, its level of spending must increase considerably.
"We well understand that we played the best hand we could with the hand we had," Mr. Plepler said. "And we well understand that that is not going to be sustainable going forward."
Mr. Stankey also said that the network's number of subscribers — 40 million in the United States, out of 142 million worldwide — was not going to cut it. HBO will have to find a way "to move beyond 35 to 40 percent penetration to have this become a much more common product," he said, referring to its current market size.
Wait, did some replies get deleted in here? There were two responses and now they're gone

Like anyone can remember the original timeslot from the 90's without looking it up. lol
Oh. Oh no. That's not ~great~. Luckily the show still is great, and you have season 3, (& at some point season 4) to go through unspoiled.
A lot of the young actresses in CW shows are from Australia, so I guess that's nothing new lol.Is the The Outpost really an American show?
Shit looks like it came from Australia or something.
Well its a given CW goes for the cheaper foreign talent.A lot of the young actresses in CW shows are from Australia, so I guess that's nothing new lol.
Well, I only posted the trailer for the second series, because just as you encountered I had difficulty tracking down the second series so I haven't caught up yet.
I just watched Flowers Series 2.
It aired in June but I'm in the U.S., I didn't even know there was an order for a second series. Caught the first on Seeso, loved it. Decided to rewatch series 1 before watching series 2 but in the U.S. you can't find series 1 or series 2 to stream or buy anywhere.
So. You know. I torrented them.
Anyway, this show is one of the best shows on and I haven't heard anyone talk about it. It's really funny but also an incredibly well made exploration of dealing with mental illness and depression within the family.
I can't make threads but I think this show deserves its own OT just to spread awareness of it. I think it would be really helpful for people who suffer from these problems or have friends or loved ones that do, and I think that applies to everyone ultimately.
If you are in the U.K. you can watch both series free on Channel 4's website and app.

If you aren't in the U.K. it's worth tracking down all the same. The show has some amazing performances and some of the scenes really gave me perspective with my own issues.
It's also hilarious.
Yes. It was announced last year. But as always with UK TV, if you want any production details or possible date for it be prepared to start online stalking line producers.
That's fine, I can wait, as long as it's coming.Yes. It was announced last year. But as always with UK TV, if you want any production details or possible date for it be prepared to start online stalking line producers.
Yeah, unfortunately there is no legal way to watch the show in my country.Well, I only posted the trailer for the second series, because just as you encountered I had difficulty tracking down the second series so I haven't caught up yet.
It's a terrific show with a terrific cast (Colman <3<3<3<3), and definitely worth checking out.
