I'm so glad they've brought back the 10" size. I have a Surface Pro 4 i5 from 2016, has just 4GB of RAM. Would the high end model of the Go be more powerful than my one?
Fuck yes! A TV Dockable laptop that I can use as a games machine?
It won't be playing modern games, but it can play anything last gen or prior. The PC back catalogue is insane.
How easy is docking?
This product absolutely messes with a lot of their partners. It will be interesting to see how they react but they can't be happy. The irony is that Microsoft aligned their prices with other manufacturer's products that have to include the cost of a Windows license in their margin.
It's been successful for them.Microsoft still selling Surface is the biggest surprise here.
Didn't even knew that.
Surface line is a 4.3 billion business for Microsoft. I expect this will sell really well too.Microsoft still selling Surface is the biggest surprise here.

That honestly surprises you? The Surface business generates over a billion dollars each quarter, why would they stop selling it?Microsoft still selling Surface is the biggest surprise here.

Here I am going through every single keyboard option on my surface tablet directly in front of you to show you that, no, there is no swype option in windows 10 on my surface Pro 3:
Hey OP, why don't you show me how to use swype on YOUR surface instead of linking me to videos that aren't you?

Maybe it's just me, but that video isn't loading. What version of Windows 10 are you running, because an option for Swype exists for me.Here I am going through every single keyboard option on my surface tablet directly in front of you to show you that, no, there is no swype option in windows 10 on my surface Pro 3:

Have you updated to the latest version? I have this on my SP3. I think it came with the big spring Windows update.

Some of ya'll on Era really surprise me, lmao. The Surface brand generates billions of dollars for Microsoft. It is incredibly, incredibly successful. Go to any top name Electronic store and look at the Surface section.
Edit: beaten badly ;)
If you want a laptop then this isn't for you. There are tons of options out there. Been hearing good things about Dells recent gaming laptops.I want to replace my laptop, is Surface a good replacement option then? I want a laptop's not tablet btw.
Haven't seen a Surface on sale here in a long time tbh I'm not into those sort of stuff.
Well, the high spec version is pretty much on par with GPD Win 2 (slower CPU aside), and from personal experience, Win 10 is a decent experience on that device. Don't go for the 4 GB version though, that one will suuuuck.Short answer? No way. Windows is terrible in low spec devices. That OS is hungry.
It should be a match for Win 2, pretty much.I knew full well that I'd be willing to pay a more premium price for that. Would this cheaper Go be capable of doing the same thing at full speeds? If not, I think the Win 2 is probably more along the lines of what you're thinking of, OP, even if it's a bit more expensive.
For others things like internet/work? Yes, is decent. 'Game changer'? Thats another story.Well, the high spec version is pretty much on par with GPD Win 2 (slightly slower CPU), and from personal experience, Win 10 is a decent experience on that device. Not in the GPU front. At least not by a lot. This thing on paper alone is stronger than switch and around a gpd2 I think. I know Gpd win 2 definitely outperform the switch a lot.

Depends on what do you consider games. For others things like internet/work? Yes, is decent. 'Game changer'? Thats another story.

But no built-in gamepad, so good luck with playing those PS2/GC games using a touchscreen. Not sure about the eMMC transfer speeds as well.
Be careful, there are other Surface models that definitely can run it, but the price goes up a LOT from here. It's almost as if the Surface Go was some sort of mindshare trojan horse...I really love the aesthetic of Surface devices and this one looks just as nice as the rest of them at a reasonable price. Stuff like up to PS2 emulation should be fine on it but I'm kind of stuck on this dumb idea of mine that whatever laptop I get next should at least be able to play FFXIV. This one doesn't seem to cut it.
Oh I know. I just looked at the models with a 1060 and those go from 2,7k to 3,2k. Jeez.Be careful, there are other Surface models that definitely can run it, but the price goes up a LOT from here. It's almost as if the Surface Go was some sort of mindshare trojan horse...
If you're really interested just wait for release. I guarantee you there will be Youtube videos out there showing what it can run. FFXIV might be possible since little is known about the proc they're using.Oh I know. I just looked at the models with a 1060 and those go from 2,7k to 3,2k. Jeez.

Easily
Ok thanks. It's why I will the title as a question not a statement.Looks like the word "game-changer" needs to be retired, its now used too often and usually not appropriately
Everyone in this thread is expecting it to run Crysis when it's not meant for that. This thing can run plenty of games at medium to low settings just fine. Cmon now Era yall better than this.
Neat. I will definitely look at the youtube reviews.
