On the contrary, I think they are being extremely effective. Facts do not matter. What matters is sound right and getting your soundbite. The Republicans are acting like rabid prosecutors out to uncover some grave injustice being hidden by the FBI. And, these questions, on their bare face, seem so simple. Yet, "they" refuse to answer. And, the public DEMANDS these answers. But, they aren't getting them. It's a conspiracy.

Their speech patterns and body language all work very well in making you want to side with them, regardless of the subject material.

I disagree. They look like fucking stooges

The inevitable movie about this whole episode of American history with Matthew McCaughey playing Gowdy will be incredible

Letting Jordan speak was a mistake - not only is he clownshoes but when his teenage wrestler fetish and lack of action are fully exposed he'll taint the entire shitshow even more than it already is.

Also what is up with the baffling (apparent) statistics on republicans and pederasty? Are they just more likely to be caught or us it somehow connected to political leanings?

I just gotta say Strzok is handling all of this really well. What an impression. Wow.

I hate him, but Gowdy is perfect in his role on this committee. Taking words out of context, asking questions that intend to cement those words into a new one.

Just like a slimy, leading, trial lawyer. Like I said before, I don't believe they're acting in good faith at all.

The "public" in this case is Trump's base. The law doesn't care. The majority of voters know it's trash and the deplorables aren't capable of being more convinced than the 100% they are now (unless you use Gowdy's hyperbole division rules) so in effect this is a midterm push and a redundant political attempt to scupper the investigation.

I do wish our European and Australasian friends would start dropping their own intelligence oppo but I understand why they can't interfere yet.

But if Trump and his madness threaten global stability, diplomatic gloves may come off.

Yes, and that's all that matters.

I disagree. They look like fucking stooges

You aren't a Republican. Hell, some of these questions by the Republicans aren't even that bad, especially with regards to bias. The problem is to answer requires touching upon the investigation with Strzok cannot do. Also, there is an underlying truth that Strzok cannot admit to without being reamed. Let's be honest, Strzok did not and does not like President Trump and likely hoped they could find crimes committed by Trump or members of his administration. The problem is that none of that really matters if evidence is found that Trump or his cohorts committed wrongdoing. There is no throwing out a case because an investigator is "biased," you either committed the crime or you didn't. The evidence is either there or it isn't. But, Strzok cannot admit this basic truth that EVERYONE knows, to do so would create national headlines as this basic understanding is taken completely out of context.

Seriously, Gowdy is VERY effective. He truly puts on the role as some public prosecutor looking for the truth. He's also supremely entertaining, he knows how to speak well. It's all bullshit, but very effective bullshit.

How much more "on board" could Trump's base possibly get at this point? Like I think they're good GOP. They'll die for their king already.

Some people in that room are professionals.

I mean, I can totally understand the trouble with bias if you're PRO the person you're investigating. But the opposite?

I'd rather have a policeman who dislikes a criminal investigate a crime than a policeman who likes the criminal.

Man, I really hope someone mentions the deep state today. I think Steve King and Matt Gaetz still have to go, so hopefully we get one from them.

To go for the extreme (but unfortunately common in American history) example, do you think it's reasonable for a police officer who was a member of the KKK to investigate a black suspect? Don't you think the extreme bias could potentially lead to misrepresenting evidence to force a conviction on an innocent person? I'm not saying that this applies to Strzok, but it's why it's reasonable to be concerned about bias both for and against with regards to investigations. No one is completely unbiased, so that's an unreasonable standard to aspire to, and Strzok seems completely reasonable, but there is definitely reason to worry about how bias might influence someone to misrepresent information to suit their ends.

I never heard of this operation Ghost Stories that sounded amazing
It's fucking crazy. People forget about this and how determined Russia is.

Anna Chapman is one the most famous faces (no pun intended) of the program. Notably, because she is beautiful spy.

The shit is literally no different than al-Qaeda sleeper cells but in this case they're Russia.

The American people need to wake up to how serious this stuff is.
