I caved and ordered that Red OnePlus 6. It's just too pretty.
I've been thinking about this for a week or so. My Note 5 is really showing its age, especially because of how many battery cycles I've put on it. I used to use it as a hotspot for work and would go through ~3 full battery charges per workday.

The videos of the 1+6 I've seen just look screaming fast and I'm interested in using something closer to stock Android after having 3 Samsungs in a row. The only thing holding me back is considering the Pixel line.

The small Pixel 2 seems like a great fit for me, I'd rather have a smaller phone again, and the camera seems good. But it seems a bit overpriced. Also at this point I feel like I should wait for the Pixel 3 announcement.

It's kind of been driving me crazy trying to choose a new phone.

I moved down to a smaller phone (5'' pixel) and couldnt be happier. There is no need for a bigger screen, just make it less comfortable to use (yeah, you get a bit more battery). Every now and then there are deals for Pixels in USA.

I went from the 5T to the S9+ and I miss the 5T's speedy portrait mode. Video and low light is better on the 9+ of course.

Small phones drive me crazy, because how hard it is to type on them.

But more importantly, the bezel shrinking trend has made big screened phones significantly smaller. As well as the aspect ratio meaning most of the increase is in the height.

For instance the Pixel 2: 145.7 x 69.7 x 7.8 mm (5.74 x 2.74 x 0.31 in)
And the OnePlus 6: 155.7 x 75.4 x 7.75 mm (6.13 x 2.97 x 0.31 in)

As you can see, the difference is very small, despite one being 5" versus 6.28"

5" is cool but 6" on a tall body is really nice as well, doesn't feel too huge at all and I have relatively small hands

Jokes aside, I also like 5" phones, but if the feature package I want comes in a bigger body and screen I'm not going to complain. My Nokia 7+ doesn't even look massive.

hey folks, i'm in the market for a new phone, but it has to have top of the line specs including a good camera, expandable storage, wireless charging, water resistance, fast charging and a headphone jack.

oh, and it needs a stylus, what are my options? anything good i should know about?

Assuming Samsung is going to make an S4 Watch this year, when is it likely an announcement would be for it?
Around when the next Note gets announced maybe?

The more I look at the S3 watch the more I'm tempted to buy it (love the idea of having Samsung Pay without a Samsung phone), but if a newer one is coming soon it would make waiting a lot easier

EDIT: Actually I looked up an article about it and apparently Samsung has announced new watches on August 31 for the past several years, so that would be a good bet for this year.

I can definitely wait another month to find out (unless the S3 gets a good sale in the meantime, but in that case I could always return it within 14-30 days depending on the store).

Hopefully the S4 keeps the Samsung Pay feature, shrinks it down a bit, and can get Google Maps. Those are my only complaints with the S3.

A width greater than ~66mm is a deal breaker for one handed usage, making typing/swiping painful. 75mm is absurd.

Give me something with a shape and feel like the 2013 Moto X with minimal bezels and modern components.

If they keep Tizen as the OS, you ain't getting Google Maps.
Right, but I thought there was a rumor of them switching to Android Wear (or at least testing it out), but hopefully they can keep Samsung Pay if they do.

But if they keep Tizen I wouldnt mind. I hear it's more stable, and I can live without Maps on my Watch, I tend to use my phone and headphones for that.

The first two OPPO phones will arrive on July 16-18th in Europe. Both are mid-range devices with a notch:

OPPO R15 Plus - available in Cosmic Purple and Ruby Red (€649)
Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 - 6.2-inch AMOLED - 6 GB RAM - 128 GB storage - 3400 mAh battery

OPPO A3 - available in Diamond Black and Moonlight Silver (€299)
Mediatek MT6771 Helio P60 - 6.2-inch IPS LCD - 4 GB RAM - 128 GB storage - 3400 mAh battery

Interesting to see how these will do. R15 Plus really seems overpriced.

That seems to have been a one off run for Samsung employees.

WHAT? The One Plus 6, which is based on the R15 Plus and has the flagship CPU instead of the midrange one is 520€ for 6GB/64GB and 560€ for 8GB/128GB in the official store. They definitely dun goofed somewhere.

Aren't you an Apple person? This would be a really big change for you if you've never had Android before...
I'm neither an Apple nor an Android person. But yes, I do own an iPhone and various other Apple products. I do also own quite a few Android products. Life is better if you don't lock yourself down imo.

Small hands on of the XA2 Plus at the end. Shit Sony, this thing has smaller bezels than the XZ2, and the promo renders weren't faked either, the screen DOES go edge to edge with nonexistant side bezels. What the hell Sony.

Sony really needs to implement these designs into their flagships ASAP. There's no reason a mid ranger should have a more desirable design than the flagships.

The flagship vs midranger design comparison is like comparing a subaru to a mercedes. Pure fucking madness.

Well I believe what's happening with the mid rangers we got at CES and now are that they're "older" designs that they're just pushing out the door because they've already invested R&D into them.

Whether that's the case or not, it sends a very messed up signal to consumers when your mid range devices have more desirable designs and headphone jacks than the flagships, lol. I don't know how long it'll take 'em to get their heads screwed on straight, hopefully we see something positive at IFA

It's crazy how china basically shut everyone up.

It's like a time bubble.

Feel like we just started to make fun of them for copying iphones with notches, and that's already ancient history.

xiaomi ditching the notch. Seems like upcoming huawei's will too.

Now I kinda wanna get a op6 or something to still get in on the notch action before its all gone.

Has the LG G7 ThinQ been out long enough to confirm whether LG finally got their act together on the GPS? I had an LG G3 and currently have a G5. I love almost everything about them except the abysmal GPS issues.

Shenzen is pretty damn good at building these phones. The OnePlus 6 has been nothing but great. I love the tweaks they did to the UI, while keeping it nearly stock. Just tons of small tweaks that are all configurable to your liking. This definitely feels like a Nexus of old, great hardware for a relative low price with a great software experience.

Was about 2 weeks from the start of the month for June as well, so that's good.

Yeah, they fumbled a little bit with the out-of-the-box 8.1 update and the May update (understandable in a device that was just released) but it's been getting faster since then. At this pace, I wouldn't even be surprised if we get P just a couple of weeks after public release like it's been the case with the DP betas.

one of the earlier notable leaks were the cad files of the rear design. Camera setup here is tied to sticking a bigger battery. And same leakers are talking about the Bluetooth stuff.

Rumors are rumors until a key thing is revealed to have some legitimacy then it all connects from here. Usually

Anyone else experiencing crashes of the facebook app?

I started for me this morning, and both the S8/Note 8 subreddits have a thread on it.

I just moved over to Facebook Lite until it gets figured out.

Also, I work for a Verizon store and I just had a customer come in with a Pixel hanging the same issue.

I'm pretty sure it's a problem on Facebook's back end with how the app works.

Ah thats good how is the Lite app? What features are missing from that to make it lite?
