What "ethics argument of GG"? The thing that jumpstarted GG was that a claim that a journalist was giving out positive reviews to his girlfriend (or ex or something). I can't remember the details all that well because it literally never happened. There was no ethics-based argument mixed in with GG's harassment. The whole point of "it's about ethics in games journalism!" was to sucker in useful idiots with the claim that games journalism was full of ethical lapses to cover for their harassment campaign. Stop falling for it.

Are you asking me what he was thinking in that moment? Or are you accusing me of believing in GG rhetoric? I already said it was a movement of hate.

I'm watching a video review of the Prey DLC and I'm really interested in playing it now.

I came out of E3 not really knowing what it was other that it was some kind of rogue like on the Moon but now that I know more about it it looks really interesting.

It was a post on somethingawful with someone detailing how his girlfriend/ex-girlfriend was cheating on him and, in his view, her psychological abuse towards him. But what actually jumpstarted this particular event was the initial blanket ban on discussion of the topic that spread through many of the major online gaming forums, leaving places like I want to say 4chan's /pol/ board *shiver* as one of the only avenues for people to learn about and discuss the topic, however much merit the discussion actually warranted.

The Streisand Effect is real and fighting it just ends up making things dramatically worse (not that something similar wouldn't have happened eventually), though there's always an expiry date for certain topics.

Pretty much everything I've read about it sounds really good................I just haven't had the energy to put into it to figure out what the systems are. Their original pitch did it a disservice because everyone thinks it's just some proc gen roguelite and it's most definitely not that.

The DLC being what it is makes me wonder about Bethesda's future SP games. I think Doom Eternal is far along enough to sufficiently satisfy the craving of "More classic Doom", ditto for the Quake reboot that's almost certainly well into development (Machine Games' expansion + Scrags being added to Blood Covenant + Death Knight being one of the upcoming champions + an interactive if very basic version of Quake 1 being integrated into last year's QuakeCon stream on Twitch so viewers would have something to chew on in-between matches), but I can't help but get the feeling that the new Wolf game is going to disappoint. BJ being sidelined in favour of his two daughters? Eh...

Bethesda is pretty much the last bastion of traditional SP gameplay, unless you want to be super generous and count Valve on account of its promises and literally bottomless pit of money, so I do worry for the future.

Yeah I felt the same and I feel the video I linked actually explains very well how it works and it sound batshit crazy (in a good way).

Yeah... Well at least it sounds like The New Blood is more of a stand alone expansion (similar to Old Blood for the first one) and not the actual 3rd game in the trilogy.

I understand they might not like Garfield all that much, but lighting the set like hell might be a bit much.

I suppose I'd want to know why you think TB's blatant support and signal-boosting of gg in spite of the blatant falsehood of it should be forgiven because he softened on it later. Like, part of his angle was that game journalists were corrupt, but you could totally trust him (even though he couldn't be bothered to fact check). It seemed like naked opportunism. Also, I wouldn't describe his stance as "softening". I remember the subject coming up on the co-optional way after the fact, and TB was dismissing gamergate itself as being nothing. His stance seemed to be that the harassment and "ethics" sides were totally unrelated and therefore his support of the imaginary part couldn't really be criticized. It felt like he was trying to get out of having to own up to his mistake.

I genuinely enjoy watching these guys play any game.

Saying that, I am sick of them playing Garfield. I don't get it.

That DLC sounds cool as fuck. I need to get back into Prey, I fell off right after I first got alien powers. That game does so many good things, and Arkane doesn't get enough credit as one of the best development teams going today.

I hope Dishonored isn't dead just cause they killed The Outsider.

I don't agree with anything he said about GG, and I'm not asking anyone to forgive him for his mistaken opinions on all that. I just can't paint him as a trash human because of a few mistakes. Maybe my opinion of him would have changed if he was given another decade to double down on his stance uninterrupted.

I mean whether you think he's a trash human or not, it shouldn't be your place or anyone's to tell a woman targeted for harassment by a group he signal boosted what she should think of him.

Yeah that's the one thing Warframe doesn't have over Destiny, a clear sense of progression

I really have no idea what to do, but wall running is really neat
They have added a story over the years so there is some sort of specific progression, but you don't get to that until many hours in. I have 100 in the game and haven't unlocked the part of the story with cutscenes yet but it is doable earlier. Someone in here, I wanna say, gave me tips on how to get to it but I immediately fell off WF.

Other than that, getting and upgrading the frames and guns (and then playing dress-up with them) is the progression of the game.

From a position of comfortable wealth, access and success, he used his massive platform to signal boost targets of sustained harassment (a couple of whom even occasionally required a police escort), and he never apologised for it or tried to make it right.

You're making people drag up the past of a dead man unnecessarily just because you can't accept he made a lot more than "a few mistakes".
