XB1-Switch-PC cross-party support coming to Rocket League

I couldn't find any mention of this, but per the title between Xbox One, PC and Switch is coming this summer with Rocket ID finally allowing parties.

The more of this the better.

Edit: can a mod change the title to "cross-party support"? Was a little trigger-happy.

No chance they'd allow me to log in with my Steam rocket league account and have cross-progression? That is the ideal and would make me quadruple-dip.

This is old. They announced this a while back as part of their roadmap from 2018.

Last but not least, we're actively working on cross-platform party support for a 2018 release. Our PsyNet Party tests this fall were a huge success - thanks again to our patient Steam playerbase for helping us out! With PsyNet Parties now stably powering the Switch platform, we'll begin rolling it out to all of our players sometime next year.

Worth noting that the game, on all platforms, has had crossplay in some capacity since launch. This is notable in that it allows cross-platform parties. Previously the game had cross-play for random matchmaking and private matches only. No joining with friends across platforms and playing online with others I believe.

XB1-Switch-PC cross play is already activated and possible since the day the Switch version launched. The Rocket League ID party system is the new stuff.

Yeah I let auto fill finish it for me. I meant cross-party.

Should add party in the title. Cross play has been there a while but it was useless without cross parties.

You get either a code or a name plus 4 numbers to add people from other platforms then you see them on a an in game friends list and can add them to your group. I don't think there will be crossplatform trading however or accounts linked across multiple systems.

It just enables the possibility to team up with other platforms. Before that you could just join a crossplay game, but couldnt interact with them like that.

Now you get a number to your account name and can team up. Thats for XB1-Switch-PC and also works for PS4-PC.

Its nice, but nothing I would use, because I have crossplay deactivated. :D

Finally. Now i can party up with my friends using my Steam Account. Playing Rocket League on consoles just feels uncomfortable for me when I'm used to 165 fps 1440p.

I have Rocket League on every platform. It's nice to know if can team up with my friends without having to change platform. Can party up with my friends while I'm away and on my Switch etc.

Sorry people enjoying cool features is 'getting old' though.

You need to stop using this "if MS was on top they would forbid it narrative" as an argument. It doesn't hold up and it doesn't have any merit.

Anyway, it's great that Rocket League is getting it now. More games need to do the Switch-PC-Xbox player pool so it puts some pressure on Sony.

Why wouldn't many people use this on a daily basis? Tons of people have friends who play on other platforms and being able to partner up with said friends is fantastic. Whether it benefits Sony isn't really our concern, it's whether it benefits the players, which it does.

This is false. Plenty of people are going to use this. And in fact, as far as Rocket League goes, Sony isn't going to be on "top" for much longer.

Because it already supported crossplay for a while. The only new thing is the cross party system, not cross play.

PS4-PC and XB1-Switch-PC crossplay is possible for a long time... but I guess OP confused a lot of people here...

Bad news - your friends (and everyone not on Switch!) will see the default car. Same for Xbox guys with the Gears of War car.
