How long is the CD and who are ppl on the blacklist? How does one know if he/she is eligible to win in both cases?
How long is the cool down? Adding features while being opaque about it doesn't make me want to use the tool more, but instead less.

I've answered some questions in the Giftbot thread re: cooldown, and am chiming in here as well!
The key points are:
It's a tiny list (less than 10 individuals). This wasn't undertaken lightly, and it involved a concerted effort on our part to cross-reference user activity to ensure that no one was placed on the list who didn't belong there. This was done in response to repeated complaints from the communities about these types of abusers.

At least the 1 month cooldown will mean people only enter for things they really want.

Just like no restrictions one month cool down is another kind of extreme. Which leads to the the part where someone has to manually take care of expired, already used, mixed up keys etc.
Thank you for prompt response! Only improvement I could suggest is that to keep a month as default cooldown, but also give the users the ability to set custom cooldown length for their own givewaways.

Guys make sure to give this feedback in the official giftbot thread.
Honestly I think 1 month is fine, I wouldn't go less that 17 or so days. Why? Because you can see in multiple threads some people have won more often than not, like Dusk Golem's thread which went on for weeks and some people won multiples even in that span of time. So a week or ten days isn't really anything. It can be frustrating for some users to see that.

This was one of the driving factors behind the choice of 1 month, including metrics showing how often people on average win gifts, weighted heavily towards preventing further Giftbot abusers.
We've heard everyone's feedback and will be discussing possible reductions to the cooldown period and other solutions.
Giftbot is constantly changing and is nowhere near close to feature complete. We'll keep you in the loop re: changes and upcoming features!

It also doesn't help that most giveaways are 24 hours. A week is nothing.
I have no idea if anyone will be interested in this, but I got a 15% discount code for Slitherine/Matrix Games if anyone wants to use it. All my purchases from them were on iOS so no good to me.
I think the one month cool down makes sense. It will make sure that people only enter for things they really want to play.
1 month does seem a bit crazy especially for the usual Humble/Indiegala fodder giveaway but makes sense if people have been abusing it!
Are you able to set a flag for the giveaway to ignore this cooldown & not add to it? Would be useful for giveaways that contain bundle dupes to bypass the cooldown system letting the author of the giveaway decide how they are given away.

1 month is good cos it means people will be more selective about their entries but I understand where people are coming from when they say it's harsh if they win some $1 humble bundle bundle throwaway game and then miss out on something they really want.
