Omg this is super cute thanks for sharing! But LOL cuz it gave me Ophilia but she's actually one of my least favorites, whoops. I did get Cyrus second, though, and I do rather like him. There is a neat survey to help you choose your starting character, I got Ophilia and/or Tressa but I already know I'm starting with H'aanit.

Yup, the game has a lot of other things going on for it and it's fairly gameplay and sysrems-focused, so expecting a traditional story or for it to resemble old classics is kinda missing the point, let it be its own thing and judge it for what it's actually trying to do...Yeah, sometimes the adventure itself can be satisfying in it's own right, instead of the destination.
I look at the cohesive whole of the game with it's gameplay in terms of combat system, class mechanics and individual path actions, the music, the interesting mix between 2D sprite work and 3D backgrounds, and each characters own story beats.
I mean at this point I've played other games in the past with individual character stories and they stood well on their own irrespective of a converging narrative. Octopath Traveler can stand on its own in the same manner just the same.
Got merchant and warrior, not bad. Tressa is fun and I'm fond of Olberic, but so far I'm siding towards Primrose as I'm very curious about where her story will go.There is a neat survey to help you choose your starting character, I got Ophilia and/or Tressa but I already know I'm starting with H'aanit.

I'm all done and can confirm once again that unless there's some crazy super hidden thing that I don't know how to trigger, Shadowforks is full of shit. If someone reading this has beaten the whole game and knows if there's something obscure at the end to find or activate, please do DM me.
My review will be up Thursday morning at 9am ET on Kotaku.com.
Apothecary and Cleric. Chose Scholar/Cleric in the demo so I guess it's pretty close. There is a neat survey to help you choose your starting character, I got Ophilia and/or Tressa but I already know I'm starting with H'aanit.

Has anyone confirmed if this has like a lvl 99 optional dungeon? I like to know these things before I start so i know If i should push for max lvl
Well this isn't a dungeon example but xenoblade had bosses that were above max lvlDon't know about a max level one—when is that ever the case?—but we've heard from other people that there are high level dungeons that exceed the story levels, IIRC.
Obviously, you didn't find all the Riddler Trophies.I'm all done and can confirm once again that unless there's some crazy super hidden thing that I don't know how to trigger, Shadowforks is full of shit. Pleased to see scaling (at least for bosses) is the real deal. I've beaten Primrose's chapter 1 as my first twice with both demos and her chapter boss was a joke even at level 3, but I recruited her as my third member just now having Tressa in level 10 and Olbric in level 8 and this same boss didn't pull any punches, he hit super hard and the fight lasted long enough for him to call reinforcements, which I didn't even know he could do.
Pretty fun, can't wait for the final game.

He finished the game and didn't hear that track? That gives me hope for an optional super bossAlso this:
Hope it goes to 99!
The track he refers to is the final battle theme!

I don't understand what everyone's obsession with this needing to have a grand overarching story is. There is absolutely nothing wrong with having 8 personal stories on each of their own journeys. To me at least it's a very unique and interesting way to handle a jrpg.
They crave it, but they have no idea why. Just like everything in real life, basically. Does Era imitate life, or does life imitate Era? That is the real question.I don't understand what everyone's obsession with this needing to have a grand overarching story is. Have you tried starting a new game, and completing the characters stories in the exact O C T O P A T H order, ensuring that when you beat each story, the save file registers the completion with the hour count ending in an 8, with the final completion time at 88 hours exactly? If you haven't done that I'm not sure anyone in this thread will take you seriously or believe that you have "completed" the game.
