I'd tell NASA to R&D anything and everything. They just need to send me the bill once a month.
But then you'd be paying for something, which is against the OP.

I don't know if you can "buy" services from NASA; if not, the closest thing to what you're asking is going to a company like SpaceX and asking them to build stuff for you, but really they're telling you what they want to build and you agree with them and say it's for you.

real talk i'd just get the next "big purchase" of my life done with so i don't have to sweat it. probably a house or a car and nothing too extravagant like a mansion or a ferrari.

boring answer but that's basically what adulthood is figuring out housing and transportation until you die

Correct, you cannot fund something that is beyond your current earnings. You can only consume what normally has a charge, for free.

Could I hire contractors to build a massive arcology building to house all the homeless people in my city?

I would absolutely never work again and instead spend all of my time with my family and friends and travel the world as much as possible.

I'd buy a shit ton of homes and sell them at a low-ish price to low-income families then use that money to invest in schools or something. Buy a bunch of apartments and food for homeless people, give them random jobs to maintain the apartments. Buy a huge amount of medicine, sell that at a low price then use that funding for researching more.

For me personally, I'd just get nicer versions of things I already have. My condo would be futuristic af. Don't think i'd ever want a traditional house. I prefer living in the middle of cities. Get a private jet because big airports suck.

Having everything you want is boring AF and I don't mean just material things, being able to travel anywhere I want or experience anything is awful!.

I'd build my own theme park, with blackjack and hookers. In fact, forget the park.

Would use that to build a house in the forest, have it equipped with solar panels, propane, electricity, septic system, well, wind/water mill etc..
Be completely independant then just live there and be able to do free groceries for the rest of my life.

The end.

Go on a decent holiday routinely, at least once a year. Learn to scuba dive while I'm still young enough for that to be reasonable.

Plus Not having to worry about paying rent and food bills already sounds great to me.

I'd offer the Wilpons a ridiculous sum to buy the Mets so that we could start making sound baseball decisions

Best reality: Buy every asset in the world, rule the world.

What OP wanted:

1. I'd buy a real big & super nice house. Something with its own waterfall - can be artificial but it needs to be big. And there's this giant sunroof in the bathroom and you can see this huge waterfall from the bathroom while you're taking a shower.

2. I'd tour a few places around the world I haven't been able to see for money reasons.

3. Uhh uhh buy a nice Audi.

4. Hmmm

Something inbetween. I'd pay for a full size to scale recreation of Doom 1 & Doom 2 as an amusement park. Not dangerous, but maybe people could painball some days, and there'd be censored days for kids and put thrill park rides in there and stuff. Doom world... ?

I figure to do that properly it'd cost a few billion.

I would probably pursue creative endeavours. Read, watch movies and TV and play video games. But at the same time see if can write and create those things. I would probably be more politically active because I think it is important to counteract anti-science and anti-intellectual movements.

I'd buy a reasonably sized house. The problem for me with a huge house like a mansion is that you either spend all of your time cleaning or you have to hire staff and having people in my home all the time would be a hellacious golden prison for me.
Otherwise I'd buy a new car since my current one is 14 years old and showing its age. Not a whole lot beyond that as I like to keep it relatively simple and I don't like clutter.
I sure as shit wouldn't be working anymore. I would spend some time volunteering, though. I'd also be doing some travel but nothing crazy.

I don't think my life would change that much really. Would pursue some other things instead of my job probably.

So you can buy everything? I'd buy the whole world. Every company. Everything. Then I would use my power to change everything for the better.

Not stress so much about working a menial job, and use my time to pick up skills to get a job somewhere fulfilling. Give the money I earn from that job to charity or quality content creators on sites like Patreon to spread the wealth a bit and make sure the things I enjoy continue. Maybe pick up and learn to play a few new instruments since I would have more time since I don't need a full time job, and do something completely different with that that I couldn't have done otherwise.

I definitely don't want a yacht lol.

I'd buy a house in a gated community in a nice neighborhood for my parents, hire a full time caretaker for them, and buy the house next door for my brother (and get him a caretaker too).

But my dream has always been to run a homeless shelter as well as an orphanage. Specifically, a homeless shelter in Los Angeles, and huge children's home in a suburb. Not so much a place for people to adopt kids, but rather, to adopt kids. Provide them with a place that they are loved, cared for, accepted, and taken care of.

For homeless people, it'd be about providing a safe, stable place they can live that has the ability to provide for them psychiatric support to get them off their feet. Somewhere they can rest while they look for jobs, save enough money to move out, etc. Someplace for them to live and have food and shelter from the elements. It hurts to see the homeless now because I want to him them, but I don't have the resources to do so. A warm meal and twenty dollars might help someone for a day, but I want to be able to teach them how to fish, so to speak. And me, alone, have neither the ability nor knowledge to do so, but with money I could have both!

For the kids, it'd be about having a stable, safe home environment with tutors and food security and the nurturing of talent. Access to lessons, academic support, mental/emotional safety.

I mean if we're really dreaming here I'd love to open those homes all over the world-- in North Korea, Vietnam, the Middle East, Indonesia, etc. There's no guarantee that they won't grow up and try to plot to become the ruling class, but hopefully by fostering a love of the community and society around them. Ground up work, I guess.

So OP... I guess, unlimited land, homes, tutors, utilities, permits, visas, apartments, construction work, supplies, labor, etc.

This is interesting.

Technically I wouldn't need to work. Definitely get a big ass house, 2 vehicles.

I've thought about this for years OP, in case I hit the lottery. One thing I would do is travel. Lots of places. Not all tourists spots. Places where I would appreciate what I have.

I would take public transportation alot. One to again appreciate what I have, other is to meet women.

I would get houses, cars for my family.

I do fear getting bored so I have to do lots of dating, maybe even a committed relationship. Probably get a degree in something computer related.

Affordable housing. Get houses that need to be fixed up, resell them. Maybe start a business where I can hire ppl that needed that helping hand, teach them some job skills so they can move on to bigger, better things.

For me since I wanted to do affordable housing the jobs were going to be related to that. Answering phones, setting appts, checking in on current builds, scoping out new ones, etc.

Yeah, this is no different than of I hit the lottery. I had a chance to try the affordable housing thing, wish I was more serious about it back then.

I would probably travel and focus on my hobbies for the most part.

Settle down somewhere that I would want to live and try and find a part time job at least.
