Gamers are used to this kind of talk, it's just interesting to check the pulse of the generation gap every once in awhile. Of course, Etika is extra af lol.

And for anyone who cares, of course, Etika does not lol.

To be perfectly honest, I don't know why anyone gives Howard Stern the time of day anymore.

This is kind of 'old man yelling at cloud', if only because Etika and Stern are both basically shock-jocks that like to do wild, over-the-top things for attention. The only difference is the format.

On the one hand, he's right to criticize the "schtick" of Youtube personalities.

On the other hand, the Stern show has sucked since Artie left and Eric the Midget died. He's become the human equivalent of The Simpsons.

Bingo. Of course Stern is rich and set for life, a legend in his field, etc...but I think there is a tiny bit of jealousy when people like him see "youtubers."

Well when I think of YouTube personalities overreacting, Etika comes to mind. His fans say he's always like this even off camera so maybe he has some sort of condition. Only say that since breaking your furniture and doing bodily harm when your excited isn't normal.

God damn Howard, roasting him, loved it

- changed a word because apparently people are super sensitive -

I'm more or less with Howard on this one. God bless the guy if he has a successful youtube career (I'm honestly not sure who he is), but people getting all worked up over game announcements, shtick or legit, is pretty silly.

You tubers are just faking these reactions just to get viewers. You'd be fool to think it's genuine.

How come when there's criticism of any kind the responses are always "old man yells at cloud" or "jealousy"? Like god forbid childish overreaction is immune to being made fun of.

I was actually expecting Howard to really goof on the guy far more. I think Howard's just not as angry as he used to be. This was really tame.

Not sure who he is or what kind of network he works for but I'm amazed that someone in the media could use impoverished North Korean citizens in a joke like that and keep their job.

I never understood the appeal of this guy.

The initial appeal was just in the shock nature of the show. But the reason it had longevity is really down to the conversations they'd have. Because that's really the best part of the show. Not when there are naked women on or weird stunts, but rather when they're just sitting around telling stories about one another. That and the news section because of the Jackie laugh (although you've got to have a dark sense of humor to enjoy that part).

I can't tell if you're doing a bit or not

Can you explain your response? Serious question. I don't get it. How did Stern "drag him" by making that comment?
Two separate comments, the quote was a funny observation and Howard did roast him good, but the second line wasn't a direct comment on the first

Can you explain this post and why you think Howard would possibly be jealous

Bingo. Of course Stern is rich and set for life, a legend in his field, etc...but I think there is a tiny bit of jealousy when people like him see "youtubers."

Because Stern is the last person who should be casting stones about on-air personas and behavior. Glass houses and all that.

Stern can criticize Etika (or anyone else) all he wants. And at some level he's not wrong, Etika is ridiculous. That said...plenty of people have said the same about Stern during his career. They really aren't that different from each other.

Lol. He's so fucking old it's amazing. What's even worse is they basically do the same thing just in different ways.

His jump to satellite killed his momentum but I gotta give the man credit for doing it 40+ years.

I don't know about that. He crushed it during it both content and business wise the first part of his satellite run. He single handedly saved Sirius (they are going to be hurting when he leaves), and up until Artie left I thought the show was great. I haven't had Sirius in years, but I got it last year with a new car. I was surprised that Stern is more PC now (he is still not that PC overall). That said after a couple of months of having Sirius I don't really listen to him that much unless on a road trip.

Ok? But this is like his schtick. Like I haven't listened to Stern in like a decade and I don't really like his content that much but this is what he does.

Most of what Stern said was pretty tame. I didn't get an "old man yelling at the sky" vibe or anything resembling jealousy. He seemed curious enough to ask questions about it and crack a few jokes. Hell, Stern even mentions that they may be "schticking it up," which is probably true.
