Hm? I'm trying to play the updated backer preview, and I need 64bit windows in order to play it?

Sorry to say, but Trigger's art style is better than the game itself. I prefer the line art, shading, and sharper edges to the soft and rounder look of the game.

I was actually thinking they mesh really well together, especially in animation style. There's not too much animation in this intro and it's early so I guess it's not a good example. But still it wasn't till after I saw this that I thought just how similar the two studios "look" is.

Um what's wrong with that? 32bit Windows isn't even remotely relevant in 2018.
Nonsense, I still use it.

The prior version of the backerpreview supported 32bit, so a sudden, unannounced change to 64 bit is odd. And all because you don't use 64 bit doesn't mean other people don't. My computer, while a bit old, runs perfectly fine and I'd rather not have to spend $500 on a new PC to play a game that my computer is otherwise perfectly okay with playing.

A 32 bit processor limits you to a theoretical 4 GB of RAM. In practice, it's under 3. It's time to move on, friend.

That's not for you to decide. I don't play cutting edge AAA games on my current computer. For 2D small studio games, like Skullgirls, or older games like DMC4, or for PS2 emulators, it runs perfectly. I have no reason to 'move on' except Indivisible isn't being complied for 32-bit, which is honestly a new development.

Believe it or not, not everyone buys a new PC every 3 years; it's a waste of money unless you actually need to.

Just how old does your processor have to be to not be compatible with 64-bit windows? You can't just swap?
I was on 32-bit Win for years even though I had a 64-bit capable cpu... until just this year when I swapped over to 64-bit so I could run the pc port of Cold Steel II without problems.
It was a pain in the ass but it had to be done. Didn't cost me anything but time.

Doesn't mean the developers should be stuck by obsolete tech. 64bit is the industry standard now and there is nothing wrong for devs to move forward, being able to utilize more than 3.25GB of RAM opens up significant more options for additonal features and content down the line. 32bit Windows 7 and 10 only accounts for less than 2.5% of total Steam userbase and is shrinking everyday.

Is Indivisible using more than 3Gb of RAM? I'm not quite sure that 32-bit is obsolete, and who decides when it becomes obsolete?
If Indivisible actually needs more than 3Gbs of RAM, that's fine, but just jumping to 64-bit for the sake of it is kinda eh. 32-bit actually runs certain things slightly better.

Actually, doesn't PCSX2 run better on 32-bit systems?

1. You can't be sure it never will. Content expansions, feature additions or engine improvement happen a lot and fast.
2. 32bit is 100% obsolete. It's on its last breath, new apps and basically the entire game industry is developing on 64bit only. There is only so much you can do with only 3.25GB of RAM in 2018.
3. Since when is an emulator indicative of how technology advances as a whole? Even if some apps or games runs *faster* on 32bit the difference is minimal and doesn't often warrant the limitations.

I mean come on, we are over half way into 2018, whopping 15 years after the introduction of the first 64bit CPU, there is literally no downside for a game to be 64bit only.

We're at the point where we don't think we can support 32-bit any more, just because we need to access more than 4 GB of RAM. In the final game, the plan is for multiple levels to be loaded at a time so there are seamless transitions between them.

Less than 2% of Steam users are using 32-bit Windows. Even if we thought we could make it work, it's still work we have to do to support a very small and diminishing segment of the market.

It also doesn't make sense to do additional work for the Backer Preview if the final game is going to be 64-bit.

Isn't that going to make the Switch port difficult?

Okay, that makes sense. If the game needs the extra RAM, fine. My issue is more when 64-bit is chosen because some decides '32-bit is just so old,' even when it's irrelevant.

It looks so good. Love the game's animation, and the anime intro for it looks like a great fit.

Wish I grew up with games like this :(

I completely forgot about this aspect of the game, but are the cameo fighters like Shantae and Shovel Knight gonna be special side quests?

I just sent an email and they said it ended and theres no news on more preorders. :(

Very sad myself as I was looking forward to doing this 2018 but completely forgot. I was hoping they could add few ppl here and there that may have missed deadline. I've backed Shenmu 3, Igavania currentgen and the one with the bad ass girl ala Ghost n goblins. This was gonna be the 4th title.

Edit: really wanted to back and get PS4 collector's.

Edit2: Ravidrath, please PM me if there is any chance I can somehow back and support to get Collector's edition. Thanks.

Just wondering if there's been any update on a release date/projection. I think it was just 2019 now?

I am really liking a lot of the changes to the character's costumes than what we saw from the initial Indiegogo campaign. I think they all look pretty good!

And finally, we see Trostani! She was one of the character I was most interested in seeing in motion. She looks great--keep up the good work, Lab Zero folks!

Is anyone doing the same thing as me?

I'm a backer of SG, and Indivisible, however, I'm not reading any of the updates.
They are going to deliver an amazing game, so I don't really need to check on them, and they are building an amazing world I want to experience when playing it uwu

so i know her hair is supposed to be shaped like water drops, but seeing it in motion, the first thing i thought was "it looks like a string of butts"

a string of boobs is also acceptable

i'm sorry
