BLACKLUNGnow I got to think of a good license plate to go along with it something that'll piss off all the mofo redneck mother fuckers with ozone killer at their license plate.
Don't fly too close to the sun. Also what's with all the tesla hate on this forum? You'd think a community that's supposedly left-leaning would support a 21st century all-american company pushing sustainable transportation forward.
I have a friend who is fairly liberal, but still hates on Tesla/Elon. He equates it to people that get obsessed with shiny things, that are sheeple. Like iPhone users. Those are his opinions not mine.
He recently shared a Jalopnik (and seriously, they are so freaking annoying) that's like "great, you want to order your model 3? That'll be an extra $2500". It's like everyone who put down a deposit knew that going in. It's not news, wtf.
That's exactly why I cancelled my preorder :( not a baller like I thought I wasGot an invite from Tesla last week to configure the AWD Model 3, and holy hell is it expensive here in Canada. Base price is almost $70k before the rebate, and even with the rebate it's around $55k. It's just a little bit too rich for my blood, I was hoping it would be more in the $40k to $45k range after rebates, sadly the Model 3 dream may be at an end for me :(
Had no idea that new orders are just 2-9 months out. Will definitely be considering one if the 2019 BMW i3 doesn't get a bigger battery. My current 2017 i3 lease is up next year, originally got this after cancelling my day 1 model 3 order because I needed a new car ASAP. Still a shareholder though :p

There are also a few very loud and obnoxious voices which dominate all conversation on this forum making it very hard for other people to get a word in and some of them are the biggest spreaders of the anti-Tesla FUD and propaganda. They are pretty much doing the work of the oil companies for them but there's not a lot you can do other than take comfort in the fact that this forum literally doesn't matter one bit in terms of the greater public opinion of and the success or failure of Tesla. It's more that people are taking the FUD hook, line, and sinker. Tesla has no voice in the media and now that Musk has pissed them and Wall Street off, the hit pieces are flying left and right. Everybody thinks unions are beneficial, yet no one researches the UAW and why it's irrelevant today. All Tesla can do is keep ramping and the tide will turn through positive word of mouth.

Protip: The way to generate support for Tesla is to drive your car around all the time. My S is my daily driver, it's important that my car is out there being seen and starting conversations. Never turn someone down if they ask to see your car, ride in your car, or if you trust them enough, even drive your car. I'm always happy to stop what I'm doing and answer someone's questions for 5 minutes in a parking lot and I've had more than a few conversations with interested passer-by as they see me getting into or out of my car. The media can do what it wants, because we all know no one trusts or believes the media anymore anyways. We have the power to create that grassroots support that will help lift Tesla to ultimate success and transition the world to sustainable energy.
Oil industry funded dis-information campaigns work well as evidenced by the other Tesla thread.

Yes but the rebates are going to go away soon in ford nation. You're walking away from the cheapest Tesla you can buy for quite some time. :(
If you want the base model for $35K you can still wait for that one. After taxes, it will be cheaper anyway. That's the worst part :/
I genuinely expected this car to be more in the $40-$45k range after rebates(something in the range of a 3 series/C class), which is something I could afford. I could probably afford it in about 6 months, but the rebate will be gone by then, and I don't want to pay the full $70k(before taxes) for this car. As of right now my budget is too tight to take on the monthly payments for the Model 3 :(
Looking to install a 14-50 nema in my garage. Do i need to turn off the whole circuit box or just the garage circuit breaker?

That "electric cars create more CO2 than ICE cars" guy was clearly arguing in bad faith and I hope someone reported it
Tesla sent a self-park/summon update today it seems. So do you need premium features for this to work or does it come with base model?
Can you elaborate a bit? I'm not on Twitter. What makes you think this?A very strange scenario is unfolding on Elon's Twitter today. Not sure what to make of it. Something is in motion though, that much is clear.

It sounds like Tesla has prioritized shipping Model 3 RWD configs. They haven't actually shipped any dual motor or performance configurations to customers, have they?
So I did another mod to my car and made a little video about it. I'm loving it so far.

That's pretty cool. Is the other mod the blue lighting in the footwells?

I wish you could rub some of your magic on me. My car had been delayed for the 4th time. Still "in transit". ISA marked delivery as "hot" again, as if that means anything. At this point, I'm starting to think that label just means it was stolen, but it probably more sense that way.
What is the purpose of dual motors other than a small bit of speed/acceleration boost? For off road driving or driving in adverse conditions?
And what are the benefits of larger tires? Better performance and they look cool? How much more expensive is it to replace them compared to regular ones?

Tesla officially confirmed that they've delivered 200k cars and are entering the EV incentive phase out period:
