I'd say no on a survival horror and yes on any other type of game.

So instead of EA, Disney should go to the EA of Japan. Seems legit.

I think Ubisoft is the best option for Disney right now: they are a big company, they have the resources to make this happen, they have their ideas on how to make an open world game: they all feel samey, but the overall quality is often good.

They could even reuse some of the assets from Starlink: Battle For Atlas.

I'd love for you to expand on calling Capcom the EA of Japan because that sunds ridiuclous to me.

If anyone makes a Star Wars horror game it should be the Aliens Isolation team.

I wouldn't be surprised if Disney renew EA's license. Their both fucked up Star Wars badly and kinda deserves each other.

Just wait for mods of the RE2 Remake that turn the police station into a star destroyer and the zombie into storm troopers

No offense, but if I had thought, "what could I do to make Dead Space less good?" it would be adding Star Wars shit to it.

That "trailer" looks really dumb.

And we all want 2k to make another NFL game when the EA exclusivity ends, but they keep renewing it. Don't just assume EA will ever let Star Wars get away from them.

Give star wars to literally any other publisher.
We have more Star Wars movies than games at this point.

Instead of stupid shit like Death Troopers, they should make a horror game featuring the Rakghoul Plague

Even if Capcom were to somehow acquire the license, Disney would not allow for a M rated Star Wars game.

I've been burned too many times with both companies.

Capcom maybe is better cause they can still produce very solid games like RE7 and how they acknowledge the importance of their old games (with remakes or remasters that don't suck), but then they ruin everything perhaps even more than EA with PR and all the shadiness.

Ubisoft is a much safer bet: 9/10 of the times you know what you're going to get, so maybe you won't get the most amazing and surprising games from them but most of their products are good.

They should make an FTL style game that takes place on the Resistance ships that are being chased by the First Order from The Last Jedi.

Honestly, Disney/Lucas aren't worth dealing with and there are so many toxic Star Wars fans that its best to just make your own sci fi IP.

But, Star Wars isn't an horror series.

Dead Space 1 and 2 are the closest you will get but they at least exist

What kind of survival game would that be, considering that it would have to be suitable for children?

Zombies in Star Wars may be the absolute hokiest shit I've ever read in my goddamn life. Of all the possibilities, zombies? ANCIENT SITH VIRUS? Get hell out of here.

Extended Universe Star Wars is the absolute worst thing in fiction. Goddamn you George Lucas.

Disney won't give Star Wars license to Capcom. They only will give it to companies like EA, Ubisoft, Activision Blizzard or Take Two which have a size for it.

Disney + Capcom? Nope.

And EA won't lose the SW license that easily and no big publisher will outbid EA.

Completely agree with you. EA will renew the license and Disney will accept for more 10 years.

If disney can allow marvel rate r show on netflix and deadpool movies (if fox deal is done)
so why star wars can't have too ?

Because that's Marvel doing with Marvel Television division and Deadpool don't have anything to do with the company. You people need to stop to think that everything that Marvel does is Disney doing when it won't. Those decisions about Marvel products except for Marvel Studios which is a direct subsidiary of Disney Pictures are all made by Marvel Entertainment and they're pretty independent of Disney in their decisions.

I really hate the notion of treating Star Wars as a skin to slap on to an existing game formula. I don't really mourn the death of 1313 because despite how cool the setting was, it looked like it was just going to be Uncharted in space. Force Unleashed was just God of War in space, to the game's detriment. Nothing like being a force user with a whiffle bat lightsaber who can only destroy an AT-ST via a quick time event.

The best Star Wars video games have always been games that explore some aspect of the Star Wars universe and then tailors the game around that, rather than just slapping Star Wars aesthetics on something pre-existing. And doing so led to some very interesting games. Following Kyle Katarn from bounty hunter to Jedi knight gave us hybrid FPS / third person melee games. Republic Commando gave us squad commands before that became huge in the 360 era. Star Wars Rebellion did a better job depicting the asymmetric warfare of the rebels vs the empire than the Age of Empires clone Star Wars Galactic Battleground ever did.

Alien Isolation but instead of the Alien its Darth Vader methodically killing every rebel on a spaceship.
