The Work Outing is a masterclass in comedy. Too bad you don't like it, but you gave it a shot. Probably just move on, it's cleary not to your tastes.

LMAO the dinner party episode where Roy spends the entire dinner trying to figure out how badly the bandage woman's face is.

The laugh track put me off at first as well, until I stubbornly realized that the show is pretty good. Ayoade kills it.

The joke that always gets me is when Jen causally mentions she's dating a guy (who we haven't seen yet), then Roy says "Oh the guy who looks like a magician."

The next scene we see Jen sitting at the table looking at someone uncomfortably, then the camera cuts to this

Gentlemen, when I first started Reynholm industries, I had just two things in my pocket: A dream, and six million pounds. Today, I have a business empire the like of which the world has never seen the like of which. I hope it doesn't sound arrogant when I say that I am the greatest man in the world.

This. I can't stand laugh tracks. The best comedy shows don't have laugh tracks.
Cheers, Frasier, Roseanne, Seinfeld, I love Lucy, MASH, The Dick van Dyke show, The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, The Golden Girls, Mary Tyler Moore all have laugh tracks and are among the best comedies ever made.

I hate these kind of threads and the OP sounds utterly poe faced to me however in a desire to stay positive I will offer Peep Show as an alternative. No laugh track; filmed with one camera and all POV. Seasons 1 - 5 Give it a go but please if you don't like it don't make another of these wretched threads or I may lose my manners.

IT crowd is awesome. Even my little girl love it lol. I think the British humour may be lost in translation here though.

If the Work Outing didnt make you laugh, then you're a lost hope OP.

Some of the funniest 30 minutes of TV I have ever seen. Brilliant.

If you're a fan of Matt Berry in the show, may I suggest Toast of London. That's some of the funniest stuff I've ever seen.

It got much better with a Matt Berry - in fact you should give Toast of London a spin as it's on Netflix everywhere

That episode is an absolute treasure. The show is a treasure.

Oh btw, introduced my parents to this show, when they got to this episode my father was genuinely laughing so hard he fell onto his knees from his chair and rocked around on the floor laughing. Literally the only time I've ever seen someone actually ROFL.

Limmy show is another great show. Completely different, but my god his Mr. Mulvaney sketches alone make it worthwhile. The Star Bar one is something I have to just go back and watch sometimes.

Limmy's Show is like nothing I've ever seen, it's almost painfully intense but I think there's greatness there.

It has some of the funniest moments ever but also some pretty annoying bits.

Still prefer the creators previpus works. Matt Berty's character is the greatest ever though.

father ted, i think is a good alternative

The creator of this was co-creator on FT. I love them both, although Father Ted is better. Possibly my favourite sitcom ever.

Not to mention when the fire extinguisher catches on fire and Moss looks and see's the made in Britain logo.

Now I want to watch again lol.

Yeah, I've just checked and they're all on Netflix. I know what I'm doing tonight!

Try Father Ted, it's the same writer but a less hit and miss and the characters are a little more believable (a little...)

If you're looking for more British comedy, you could try Spaced. No laugh track, a bit more modern, the jokes can be quite subtle and it's directed by Edgar Wright!
Spaced is god-tier, yeah:

All it takes to get a few laughs from this thread for me is the reading of the episode quotes to bring it all back.

I've watched IT crowd from start to finish many times and it's always just as funny. One of the best modern TV comedies.

Honestly, it may just not be for you.

The show just isn't for everyone. For me almost every episode is hilarious, the jail scene is probably my favorite one :)
