It looked beautiful and a lot of the animation is top notch, but the movie itself was largely mediocre, and I'm not usually too keen on shitting on these types of movies. Absolutely loved the original btw.
The amount of the exact same gag reuse is the most I've ever seen in a movie ever, and scene-for-scene everything is highly, highly predictable.
I know these might seem like minor complaints, but the movie in general just strangely gave off the vibe of something like a direct-to-dvd sequel, but with some of the highest production values yet in a Disney movie.
Again, I'm usually not critical if things like this, and overall the movie was fun at times, but there's nothing here I can really "like" besides the aesthetic.
*SPOILERS* regarding the plot:
I thought that the villain motivations were pretty strange, it felt like the brother was set up as an antagonist that could possibly be profiting off the situation in the movie, but it's left as a vague thread for a potential sequel. It also would have been a better explanation regarding the very stilted and cliche plot, and shown that maybe the brother was essentially capitalizing off drama with the camera footage in their suits. For all intents and purposes in this movie though, he supposedly has good intentions. There's a line that's sequel bait that questions his motives, but 1) Nobody wants a retread of this damn movie 2) The camera shows his genuine concern and approval of supers.
TL;DR: Not usually critical and loved the original, but it was just a really mediocore movie with extremely high productions values that make it one of the more beautiful Disney movies as of late. Prepare to see an insane amount of gag repetition and plot telegraphing more than any other movie you've seen in the past few years.
I saw an early screening of this a few days ago, and the visuals are absolutely gorgeous and the music is very fun, but I'd put it down with the other non-Toy Story Pixar sequels in terms of quality in that it's very by-the-numbers and predictable, and lacking in the emotional beats department that Pixar / the first film is known for.
Was very good and funny, but imo falling also well short of the original.
The action scenes were insanely good, animation stellar, great score, and Jack jack stole the show, but other than that it's rince/ repeat with another revenge plot but a much less interesting vilain imo (and a really stupid motive to boot).
Also, wth happened to Violet's voice? I checked and it's the same actress. Borderline unrecognizable.

Critics praising a Pixar movie is basically meaningless. I wanna know if it's truly worth my time.
BTW my time is very valuable. I will only watch movies that will have a SUBSTANTIAL effect on my life.
Put in a way that you troglodytes can understand; Would my time be better spent having sex with a women consensually or watching Incredibles t2o
Moviebob did his take. He's regrettably disappointed. Not because it's a bad movie (2.5 stars out of 4), but that it doesn't live up to the original and feels disjointed and has multiple sub-plots that are either unresolved or end unsatisfactorily. You can tell he feels like shit having to say it.
I think it was an ok movie that due to the 14-year-old wait feels like it is really bad. The plot was REALLY predictable, the scenes felt kinda uncanny sometimes, they didn't explain much about their world. Some of the dialogues between Elastigirl and Evelyn Deavor felt like they were written by an AI trying to emulate how 'empowered women' would talk. It felt like a sequel that should have been made 2 years after the first one.
On the other hand, the visual is absolutely STUNNING. Beautiful animation, I was astonished by it the whole movie. It's even better than the top tier Zootopia. They also really managed to create a noir atmosphere in the Screenslaver scenes, they felt really creepy. I didn't notice how much the aesthetic of this movie is based on the 60's when I watched the first one, and in this one, they exceed in it - it's just so beautiful.
The Jack-Jack scenes were adorable and so funny. He is the best.
