Because it didn't get a PC release. Yeah, it sucks for people who like the game.
It's always a tough spot with re-releases, since on consoles you can see the work of porting a game to your new device. But on PC, you might be using the exact same rig, so it comes out as they ask you for more money to fix what you already payed for. Or sometimes they just give it away for free. Capcom chose to not release it at all.
Because there is no justice in this dark world.
whatI have high hopes for this game having DmC inspired DLC, maybe an extra scenario or, at the very least, some clothes (would be cool to have DMC2 garbs as well).
It's been done. They could, but Nero's look would change dramatically cause of the different game engine.
Except of course they use the same one in CxC game as well.
Realistic looking Megaman.....would be interesting.
Gunslinger and Trickster were straight up taken from DMC2, and it started Bloody Palace.Think that's common knowledge by now actually, it's pretty much in every DMC thread I've seen! And DMC2 had good ideas?! Or is this about some theoretical good ideas DMC2 had that were from DMC2 original director but couldn't find their way into a game until Itsuno put them in DMC3?!! O__o
Because that sound like a hell of stretch.
Turbo mode. 20% fasterWhat exactly were the changes for DE? Anything more drastic than changed lock-on? I got the special edition of DmC in the sale because I still had fun with the base game on release, and I read they changed a lot of the game afterwards that I haven't seen (such as not having demon / angel weapons simply bouncing off opposite types and just doing less damage).
Turbo mode. 20% faster
'Hardcode mode': Harder to maintain higher style rankings, enemies deal greater damage. Timings on stuff like demon dodge has been changed
I actually think HC mode makes the style system too difficult. In DmC vanilla you get SSS too easily but on HC it's leagues harder to get to S than it is even in old DMC. But it's nice to have the option I suppose (would prefer maybe if they were broken out as individual tweaks)
'Must style' mode: A really cool addition where you can only hurt enemies when you are in S rank.
All of these are modifiers which can be applied to any difficulty level.
I tried to do the same as you before I think, wanted to mod the steam release and followed links to some DMC website with mods which had all that stuff but hit a similar dead end. There's not much of a community left around DmC I think.Any way to get this stuff modded in? So many links that just lead to people asking questions and dead links.
Yeah, on top of those, color coded enemies can be killed with any weapons, Vergil in Bloody Palace (and he doesn't wear a fedora anymore in the story, LOL), and a DMC1 Dante and DMC3 Vergil costumes.Turbo mode. 20% faster

I hope there is a DmC inspired story DLC where you get to shoot a pregnant demon and kill an innocent baby. And maybe some uncouth DLC to add a healthy dose of F bombs for less cheese and more edge.
HD collection is the best way to play DMC3.So, guys, I was a little apprehensive to go back to unswitchable Styles but I'm craving some DMC3: SE.
Can you tell me what's the best way to replay it? Correct me if I'm wrong but the standalone Steam release is bad, right?
Is the one in the HD collection the way to go, or is the PS2 version the best?
The PS2 version is best, emulated by PCSX2 (all the OG intended effects but in high render resolution). The standalone port published by Ubisoft is shite, but has style switcher mod (don't know if it's compatible with the hd collection). The most hassle free but still good way to play is the HD collection, that's what I'd recommend. So, guys, I was a little apprehensive to go back to unswitchable Styles but I'm craving some DMC3: SE.

That's cheating tho! D:A really nice bonus for playing it on PCSX2 is that you can use save states, so you can save at any time.
Excellent for practicing specific sections or moments over and over.
HD Collection has got the style switch mod too, although it crashes for some, apparently a new release is coming sometime next week. The PS2 version is best, emulated by PCSX2 (all the OG intended effects but in high render resolution). Ok, I wanted also to ask who else wanted in the end DmD game revealed everything was a illusion and the Dante was just a brainwashed kid by the Demons only for the real Dante come to the rescue.
It had after all the Theme of illusion in the whole game.

That Rahni Tucker DmC:DMC(DE) Change Log said:Style Bonuses in the original game became too 'spammy' and didn't feel like a reward for doing something cool - they just became par for the course. At the same time, players doing awesome super long combo chains with brilliant finishers weren't getting properly rewarded... what we wanted to see was a big jump-cancel combo ending with a helmbreaker kill be rewarded with a pop in the style system. So, with this in mind we replaced a lot of the old Style Bonuses with an 'awesome combo' bonus. It counts the number of consecutive attacks you do in a row, then when you do a 'finishing move' you get a big bonus based on number of hits in the combo. Finishing moves are basically the last hit in any combo, or any slam down attack.
That's cheating tho! D:
Tried to speedrun some games myself but it just kills the fun when you have do like a Rocky training montage and pick apart the game like that. Guess I'm a filthy casual. :D

Now that you wrote that I'm getting legit deja vu, pretty sure that this was a running theory, at least for NT's original vision of the game, but it would've never happened because Capcom/NT intended DmC to replace the original story.
The theory that I recall was that the DmC Dante in the TGS reveal trailer was a kid who was experimented on using Sparda's (or Dante's?) blood, to create a demon who could kill the real Dante, then as the story progresses he rebels against his creators and teams up with the real Dante at the end, or something like that.
Fun stuff.
Now if only the HD Collection would go on sale on PS4. $30 isn't bad for two games, but I'd prefer a discount.
Oh my god. I just heard the best idea for V's true identity. There's no way it's true but if it is my joy will put me in the fetal position for days.
We've been trying to figure out who he is, but it's not like there's much to go on. I mean, a young man with short dark hair and tattoos on his arms who has the power to summon demons? Dante's never even met anyone like tha-
FEATURING DEMI-FIEND FROM THE SHIN MEGAMI TENSEI SERIES
They should not get weird. They should just include the costumes from all of the previous games. That would be enough.I hope there are cool costumes
I hope they aren't afraid to get weird with the costumes
It's competent and doesn't drop frames.Good sale on DMC collection on PS4. I refused to buy it on PS3 because DMC2 was included but now I no longer hold a grudge against it, after what the franchise went through and decade without a true sequel I just don't care about DMC2 being shit lol, I'll buy it again. The fact it still gets included in collections I really want Capcom to acknowledge it in DMC5, even with a passing line like you folks have already mentioned.
Btw how is the collection? Is it at least competent and doesn't drop frames?
Yeah, saw that idea floating around before. And it would be amazing.Oh my god. I just heard the best idea for V's true identity. There's no way it's true but if it is my joy will put me in the fetal position for days.

Since this game possibly takes place after DMC2, what are the chances they bring back Lucia?

Pretty low - they might reference her, but I'm doubtful they'd put in the work to make her playable with Trish, Vergil and Lady the more important concerns.
whats that real reason? I've only beaten 1 and 2, working on 3 now.Are we even sure if Trish and Lady are alive at this point?
Maybe that why the mood of Danted had been changed in DMC2 after all.
[I know the REAL reason why Dante was different, but it would make an interesting plot point.]

oh lol thought there was like a lore reason. Maybe they will add it in 5Different developers took the job to make DMC2. Didn't knew wtf they were doing.
They're not just going to kill off popular characters in the backstory and have it stick (look at how Jill was used in RE5), but Trish's absence in DMC2 could definitely be turned into something deliberate here; and it's plausible that Dante would be going to hell for her as well as Vergil.
Trish in particular is a case where even the nature of what she is hasn't been fully defined (in particular, she apparently has a 'true demon' Devil Trigger that's not yet been shown), and the idea that Mundus didn't actually build her to last very long would be easy to integrate if you need a reason for her to have an arc with a risk to herself. But I'm mostly expecting her and Lady to be afterthoughts in V itself and just come in as playable for the DLC, if that.
Lmao.
