Hey. I've had my switch over a year now and have played about 80% handheld. I love it. Problem is, my left joycon is wonky, left bumper barely works and the joystick always tugging me down. I've tried cleaning it and what not but I think I should just get new controllers. Happen to anyone else?

Yes, the left joycon joystick wouldn't press in anymore. They also would desync if anything was blocking LOS directly to the console. I recently bought the Pink/Green set a few days ago and they are even worse. If I place so much as a finger completely in front of the joycon, it will desync after a few seconds of blocking it. Thankfully, 99% of my time is in handheld, otherwise, they wouldn't be much good.

Got exactly the same problem with my (day one) Switch, I sent my left Joycon to the SAV and 4-5 days later, everything was fine again

I have more than 900 hours on my Switch, 600 of the them consisting of saltiness from playing Splatoon in Japan, and my joy cons are fine. I also have a good 30-40 hours on Celeste mainly in handheld mode. I dropped them a few times I think, but the Switch and the joy-cons seem far more solid than many seem to believe.

Yep. I had this issue with my launch joycons and my xenoblade pro controller.

I sprayed WD-40 electronics contact cleaner (not the lubricant) on the edges of the sticks, rotated & worked it in, let it dry and seems to be working now.

I'm guessing dust gets in there and needed flushed out.

Nope, still rocking the original, unchanged, day 1 launch Joycons (and the Pro Controller). Might've been incredibly lucky with my Switch, 'cause i've never had those Joycon connection-problems or scratches on the screen from the dock or wonky D-Pad on the Pro Controller or anything else.

Launch joycons doing fine here. I do try to clean dust from under the sticks every now and then, though.

My left launch date Joy-Con acts up a little. Already sent it in a year back as it had the problem of disconnecting when the Switch was docked and something was in the way / blocking the signal. Nintendo's service dealt with it flawlessly and it works perfectly until now in that regard. What doesn't work as perfectly is the Analog Stick, which is fine in every way except for pushing it to the left. I already tried the Input Detection option within the Switch's settings but couldn't find a problem with it. But it's easily recognisable when I'm on the homescreen. If I go to the right until I reach the last of the first 12 game icons and then press to the left once with the Stick, the marker will not move one icon to the left, but two or more.
In short: the left Analog Stick registers more input to the left than it should. This also already led to a death in Hollow Knight e.g. where the character moved further left after I had jumped onto a small platform. If only the "d-pad" wasn't as shitty as it is to use in that game - I'd not bother with another pair of Joy-Cons as the problem is not that bad in most games.

Still holding out on getting another pair as they're freaking expensive but I guess I cannot circumvent it for too long.

One of my Joy-Cons takes a few extra seconds to synch, but I've had no other problems with my 4 Joy-Cons in over 700 hours of gameplay.

I've had my switch since Mario came out (the Red bundle).

Never had any problems with them and I play 85% or more handheld. I'm guessing the gripcase I use helps keep them from getting worn.

I use the Jtech Gripcase for the switch.

Yup, my left joycon top SR button is not working so I can't use it as a single controller. Got it day one.

My launch Joy-Con still work fine, as does my launch Pro Controller. That said, they've been back-ups for a while now, since I got the Splatoon Joy-Con when those came out, and the Xenoblade Pro Controller in January.

Yup, my first left joycon's stick wobbled and didn't click any more. The store I bought a replacement said it's pretty common

That's unfortunate, I have a neon Switch I bought on launch day and the Joycons are still perfectly fine aside from one weird, shiny scratch on the coating. I don't know that happened o.o

I had to sent in two JoyCons shortly after launch because of the known connectivity issue.

Now I have a left JoyCon with a Stick that doesn't click anymore. Though about just buying a new pair of joycons since the replacement costs for the stick are about 30 Bucks...
