For what it's worth, "it's from the comics" isn't really a valid defense of a plotline. Either it works or it doesn't. Where it came from is irrelevant.

its a comic book movie though. and who says it doesn't work beside two people here? the goal post keeps moving.

edit: its a comic book storyline adapted for film. Did people have these problems when aliens invaded in Avengers, or when Thanos was breaking reality? The man was chasing down a dude on a motorcycle in the prequel to this film, but sure BP the film with an all-black advance civilization is what breaks it for some people. Not the talking raccoon, or Thunder God.

like someone else said movie discussions on Era suck.

You know Rifftrax has done every Star Wars film? A few episodes of Game of Thrones? Harry Potter? They do a lot more than just objectively 'bad' movies.

And yes of COURSE they do every movie and make shit up and misrepresent the plot... That's the comedic aspect. If all they did was point out actual flaws ('you can see the wires used to carry the actor!') it would be pretty generic and boring.

Yes the humor is sophomoric, yes a lot of people don't find it funny and that's perfectly okay... but some in this thread are determined to demonize people just for finding a stupid show funny.

Lol he's rescued from the river and nursed back to full health by other people after he fell down the waterfall, I mean if that's not cheating I don't know what is. You don't go yelling about a fair fight if you are allowed to have a break and have people giving you your full health back after your opponent beat you to death, lol.

I doubt it. These people exist for TV shows too. Make the topics and discussions on them absolutely cancer filled. I don't think it helps the stupid fucking hate-watch culture, it certainly doesnt help. People love posting these garbage ass videos about any movie someone somewhere enjoyed more than they did. But I dont think it created that culture either.

I just wish the show would get a official topic if people love this so much. Make an OT and post in it.

Without a doubt, the absolute worst thing in this thread was that guy claiming you haven't seen films because your black.

Because apparently in his mind, black people don't watch "real films"

That was fucking transparent and lame as fuck. Got some real interesting characters on this board.

Which is funny because not only did I just have a post on IndieWire's critic survey, but I review films on the weekly. Don't judge a book by its cover people.

To each their own I guess? I managed to find all of them funny... but I also don't find things that a lot of other people feel funny. It's weird how personal tastes work.

To be clear, I don't find CinemaSins roll on the floor funny like the best Rifftrax/MST3k but it's all different shades of amusement.

Is this serious? Hahaha. Film critics and movie goers have been picking apart films since the start of the medium. And if you're going this far, wouldn't you say Mystery Science Theater 3k are the ones partially responsible for CinemaSins? They both do essentially the same thing.

Edit: I've had some smiles at them "nitpicking" movies I love. Why are we acting like some silly YT channel is responsible for nihilism towards movies?

No worries, their best stuff continues to be the actual bad and B movies for sure. They've gone back to doing less mainstream movies again the last few years, but for a good chunk of time they were plowing through major motion pictures left and right. Being associated with Legend Films means they got a lot of big budget movies early to have the rifftrax out day 1.
