Palm Sunday. I wanna see where things lie Palm Sunday.

That's two weekends. I know there's no "box office" but we've seen too many of these wild sinks lately I figure at least a week post-release should be good enough to see what ultimately happens with this thing.

It's still going to be Snyder's take on the characters. If you hated BvS you're probably not going to like this.
You can still put together a coherent movie and make me like the characters. Both versions of BvS were completely incoherent and stupid.
I loved parts of MoS and I want to love this.

I'm not going to come in with the baggage of "I hated BvS so no matter what, I will hate this". I don't think that's fair.

Ditto. I hate the way this forum treats DC fans, and how nothing is done at all by the moderators to even stop it.
Funny, I remember there being almost universal praise from this forum (and old GAF) for Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Shazam, Wonder Woman 1, Aquaman, Doom Patrol, Crisis on Infinite Earths...

Oh not to mention everyone seems really hyped for The Batman

Some of you must be seething at the positive reviews.

Hope the RT score sticks. In wanna see Zack go out on a high note.

I thought I was going to get a very bad movie with some of my favorite characters that I had no real interest in watching based on the director's previous output.

Turns out it's apparently a fun movie and well worth my time for a relaxing evening.

I'm seething with rage at the prospect of a good time.

Well considering that it's just opinion on said Director, kinda embarrassing to want a person to fail so bad that they can't accept that he makes things that people enjoy
I'm not going to explain how the opinion "I doubt the next movie from this guy is gonna be good" isn't controversial or out of place anywhere else except this very weird pocket of fandom.

Some of you so desperately want this movie to be bad, its hilarious. Really happy to see it reviewing well, can't wait to watch it.

This makes me wonder how BVS UE would have reviewed (which I thought was still terrible but hey).

Honestly there actually is a logical reason to have somewhat as a DC fan hoped this would tank and blow over

I really want DC to move on from being stuck in the vortex of Snyder

I mean I'm clearly known around here as a Marvel nut but like Birds of Prey probably top 5 comic book movie for me

It could still be what you personally consider to be a very bad movie. Rotten tomato percentages don't determine whether you'll enjoy a movie or not. I always found it odd when people treated them like that.

Midgar, With Love
with NO positive reviews being highlighted, and the positive ones are meet with mockings)

Got no horse in this race. I'm not interested in the movie, nor am I interested in dissing folks who are. But... is this even true? The only positive review I'm seeing numerous people ridicule is the SuperHeroHype one. Which, to be fair, is... a bit much, no?

I'm especially pleased to read the positieve impressions of Cyborg, not just as a character, but also Ray Fisher's performance.

when BVS and JL came out and people shitted on it, it actually made sense because everyone had the opportunity to see the film and make their mind up.

but Snyders JL was shat on as soon as it was announced, before even a teaser came out and it's been relentless ever since. some on this forum even went as far as clowning him for not taking a salary for this, calling him a liar without any proof.

Yeah DC fans can be zealous weirdos but there is absolutely Snyder hate on this forum, don't gaslight people.
...because Snyder had a track record of making shitty-ass movies. Including BvS Ultimate Edition which is still an absolute trainwreck. Obviously people are going clown on the director with a history of making overlong "style of substance" schlock when he announces his 4-hour cut of a movie that was already poorly received.

That this movie is anything other than a dumpster fire is remarkable. Nobody was hoping it would be bad. But many were expecting it based on history.

WB is two for two with this releasing right after WW84.

Was that one a singular vision thing? It was messy in a way that felt more like meddling and execs not knowing what they wanted, like a lot of movies lately are. Had that Rise of Skywalker stink on it, rather than Patty Jenkins going off and doing exactly what she wanted to do. I don't know shit about what happened with that one behind the scenes, though.

Here's what's going to happen by the time everyone sees the film:

The people who have been excited for this since before this version even existed are going to like it and praise it, while the people who don't like Snyder's take on the characters since Man of Steel will most likely dislike it. As is how the cycle works.

I'll watch it and I only finally watched the theatrical cut last night so I can go in this to see the differences. Am I hoping it's better? Yes. Does that mean I'll enjoy all 4 hours and think it's good. Probably not.

I don't intend to watch this and don't really want more Snyder in the future, but if it goes down as a Batman Returns (a batshit take on characters by a way-too-into-his-vision director that still, somehow, makes for a good watch if you're in the right state of mind) instead of a Batman & Robin, that's mostly good news.

This is in response to the general shitposting and constant hate for the Snyder cut even existing. It's evident on most Snyder threads. I dislike plenty of his films too and find some overrated but the vitrol I've seen regarding him on Era seems unwarranted. Hating Snyder's films is fine but the way many posters post, it seems like they have a personal vendetta against anything he touches and can't be happy knowing that plenty of people enjoy his films still. If you haven't seen that you haven't been paying enough attention.

I think you have to accept that the toxicity that sparked the existence of this version of Justice League has created this environment around the film.

When there's a #ReleaseTheSnyderCut campaign that targets things people are excited about and comic book movie fandom in general you get an audience that isn't just excited about the film. You have people who observe it with arms crossed, skeptical it will be worth it.

So it's not some 'Snyder hater' problem. It's this negative feedback loop that people keep feeding. Even in this thread you have people trying to rub the reception of this film in the faces of people they are imagining - it's self fueling. I mention this to contrast your points, which have merit.

If we can just deal with the confrontational posts as they occur, instead of seeing two sides, I think this can be a less hostle, potentially fun thread.

Titans and the new Superman show too. And all of the animated movies. And the comics.

Honestly the non-Snyder stuff is received super well, barring legit shit shows like WW84 and that Killing Joke animation.

Like I just want DC movies that I can reliably count on

And not WW84 and uneven Snyder stuff

Titans, Superman, Doom Patrol-all great. Here's hoping Green Lantern works.

I know but Im definitely more on the benefit of the doubt side of things now that it looks like it's not simply more BvS

Some have clearly wanted this to fail. Some NEEDED this to fail. Not just get a bad score for some it had to do worse then Whedon's version and took delight in that hope.

The most common sentiment I've seen from "haters" on this forum is "it will probably be better than the whedon cut but still not very good".
