If anyone has any other kind of temporary workaround to the game's PC issues they'd like for more people to see, quote this post with it so I can add it to the opening post
But remember how happy you were that NISA got it and that the game was going to come out super fast! Quality doesn't matter it's all about quantity and speed!

Better pray the community can pull some miracles off with this game, cause I have zero faith in NISA at this point. So this all sounds like a major bummer. I just don't want to play multi plats on console. I wanna crank the hell out of this game. I've been enjoying the hell out of Falcom games recently. Here's hoping this all gets fixed.
It's silky smooth on a Pro, but there's a fair sum of framerate drops on the regular PS4. Nothing terrible, seems to happen most in Castaway Village (thankfully there's no action there)
As far as we know, they promised a simultaneous PC port too, something XSeed has never managed to do.
Why is NISA such an incompetent company and why do their fans tolerate it?

Also, I was the head of social media at Konami during the Kojima stuff. My skin is titanium at this point.

Guess I'll go ahead and ask but why was this released at full price after the delay and now with all these problems? We've updated the steam page to include a new announcement regarding Day 1 findings and Known Issues.

4k60.So I have a pro is it 1080p 60 or did they get it to 4K 60 on that?
I don't see what the price has anything to do with it. A product doesn't get cheaper because it is delayed. The question is why they are unable to just get a proper PC port out without major issues even after a long delay. Or, an even better question would be why the game wasn't delayed further, when I know for a fact that testers already knew about a bunch of these problems weeks ago and still encountered them this week. Why release a turd product and embarrass yourself further?Guess I'll go ahead and ask but why was this released at full price after the delay and now with all these problems?

Are they honestly expecting people to shell out $60 for a game that's 8 months late and this broken on arrival, and now widely panned, to help test and debug it for them? How about, you do your job instead, and get it right the first time.
No, they can't. They never have. We're way past the point of what by common standards is widely accepted as a pattern.
Goddamn. Well good on you for being open and responsive.Thanks. We're just trying to make sure people can enjoy this incredible game on their platform of choice without major incident.

First off, it's Ys. No apostrophe.Well this puts my reservation of Y's VIII for switch into question. I'm hearing rumors the videos for that version has been footage of the PS4/Vita version and not the actual Switch version. Are we in WWE 2017 Switch levels of bad here?
This really sucks because I've never played an Y's game and wanted to try this one out. Maybe I should hold off?
As if PR staff have any control over those decisions. They are just left with the fall outThat is his/her job. Literally what they are paid to do.
No offense, but the money would have been better spent on doing a competent job of actually porting the game, rather than on doing damage control.
This. The PS4 version is really good. It was good even before the localization issues, better afterward. This PC port is crap. I uninstalled the game and they even provided me a copy for review. This port is crap and I feel bad for everyone who waited this long for this turd. I don't have any faith in this being fixed and playable anytime soon. And even if it is, would anyone care?First off, it's Ys. No apostrophe.
The underlying game is wonderful, and you should definitely play it one way or another. We still don't really know how the Switch version is going to run, or even whether it will be 30 or 60 fps.
All I can say for sure is that the PS4 version is excellent if that's an option for you.

Falcom doesn't give a shit about what their overseas fans want. They only care that the fans exist and are buying their games regardless of publisher. It will be clear soon enough, but all Falcom really cares about is who can pay them the highest licensing fee for their titles, regardless of prior partnerships, established localization standards, or whatever. Of course Falcom is aware that overseas fans exist, they know because that's why other companies are willing to bid more for their licenses. Because the fans exist. But that's all Falcom cares about, overseas fans are a means to make companies fight over license fees. Money money money money money. To being fair to Falcom, they probably didn't know much about NISA reputation in the west because even theirs bad track record isn't that well known unless someone brought up about it. They are just as trustworthy as Xseed to Falcom when bidding for Ys VIII happened, not to mention NIS president personal connection to Kondo. With all of that in mind and the (now broken) promises of localization deal, Falcom gave the right to NISA on an understandable ground. At this point of writing I wouldn't accuse Falcom for not caring about their overseas fans just because they happened to wrongly chose NISA for Ys VIII. Considering that Kondo gave interview to western news outlet quite often in comparison to niche developers of similar size, at the very least he's aware of us.
With all of that said, if you (also me) are afraid of Falcom giving localization right to NIS(A) just because of Kondo, starting sending out email is probably the best option to prevent that from happening.
