There's no wrong answers. IMO if you aren't picking the ridiculous answers to substories you're playing Yakuza wrong.
The puppies answer to that Yanki story is *hilarious*. "He kept them? FUUUUCK YEAH!"
this one was funny !

So I have a Dualshock 4 connected to my PC via Bluetooth (no DS4Windows running at the moment). I can get Steam to recognize my controller in game and it brings up the Big Picture UI when I hit the Home button. The game seems to recognize there's a controller attached, as the button prompts change from keyboard/mouse to Dualshock prompts when I do stuff on the controller. But nothing on the controller actually DOES anything--d-pad doesn't move the menu cursor, buttons don't do anything, etc. The only thing that happens sometimes is when I move the left stick, a virtual left stick appears on the screen that mimics what I'm doing with the controller.
Any ideas? I've tried launching Yakuza 0 in both normal and Big Picture mode and it doesn't make a difference.
But I only have the integrated sound card.
Either way, changing AudioMode=1 makes the game crash for a friend, like it did for me when I tried to change the hidden audio options. It's pretty weird how some .ini changes make the game crash for some, but not for others.
Hmm, I've tried everything. Nvidia control panel, updating GPU driver, reinstalled geforce experience in case it had some customization settings (It doesn't) for the game, running in compatibility mode, Verifying integrity of the game cache.....if your specs mean you are on a laptop, go into the nvidia control panel > 3D settings and set Yakuza0.exe to run on your 980m. It defaults to your iGPU for some reason. I have a i7-8750H and a 1070-maxQ and it ran like shit and hard locked during the intro before I manually told it to use the dGPU
Finished chapter 1. Wow, so many cut scenes >_<
It's okay so far, not what I expected at all, but I'm enjoying it. Curious to see how the game unfolds.
Read da OP.Do substories appear on the map in this game? They did in Yakuza 4 and 5, but I started 6 and they don't. So I'm wondering if side quests have to be discovered in this one, or if the starting points appear on the map. They're my favorite part of the Yakuza games and I don't want to miss any.
I can't find any more substories! Does the game tell me where they are?
There is an equippable item in the game that marks the beginning point of any substories that you haven't started/encountered yet. It's called the "Trouble Finder" and you need to find it once for Kiryu and once for Majima (you can't swap these items between them). The Trouble Finder is found for Kiryu by completing substory related to his Real Estate business, and it unlocks in Chapter 5. For Majima, you need to complete the friendship gauge with the chef of the restaurant "Komian" in Sotenbori.
Sometimes while walking around I'll hear like a chime and the map will flash or something. What is that?
On topic: I believe that's when you get close enough to a main objective for it to appear on your minimap.
Off topic: Is your name based off of Mitch Hedberg?
Man. This game runs like a dram on my pc. (I7 6700k, 1070, 16GB). The setup devours this game in 4k.
Off topic: how come, when I try to bring up game at to record something the screen just flashes twice and nothing happens?
This game is a test for how instinctively I know my Playstation button prompts. :p It's also pretty fun.
You're using the windows 10 game bar recording whatsit? That doesn't work on fullscreen games. Get a better piece of recording software. MSI Afterburner will do the trick, unless you need to share it to Xbox or whatever.
Those are absolutely incredible numbers for such an old niche game ported late. It's probably way beyond a success in SEGA's eyes already.pc players dissapoint me here. the games cureent launch day ccus are awful top out at 8.7k, and is sitting around 6.5k. hopping it was gunna sell better than this.
It's currently 3rd on the top sellers list. Can you really even use concurrent users for a single player game that isn't a huge release to gauge the amount of sales? I bought the game and only had it running for half an hour so far.pc players dissapoint me here. the games cureent launch day ccus are awful top out at 8.7k, and is sitting around 6.5k. hopping it was gunna sell better than this.
No SSAA @ 4K?Running buttery smooth 60fps @4K, no stuttering. Ultra on all settings including FXAA. No super sampling. I preemptively applied the fixes mentioned earlier (Affinity: High, the .ini audio tweak). I'm running a GTX 980ti / FX8350. Forgot to take a neon-drenched night shot but here's day shot. I'm still on the intro.

EDIT: Never mind. It turns out you can't have ANY OTHER CONTROLLERS connected, you have to unplug them all. Sheesh.
Game opens up by chapter 4ish. And no, no keys and lockers this time. Are there no keys and lockers in this game? I just beat chapter 1. Has the game started properly yet? Cuz it's feeling like less of a mainline game than I expected. Still good ol' Yakuza though.
I hope it gets patched soon though. Still got some audio crackling and some freezing with the "fixes" applied.
Yes, they serve no other purpose than to be sold to get some cash.Dumb question.
I sold the plates i got of the clown. That's ok in'it ?

Thanks. Thought so.
On Steam's controller settings, you have enable your DS4. I think it only works if you're actually using a DS4.So the OP and others mention that there are PlayStation button prompts in the game... How do you enable them?
Just got to the first karaoke section and, as a Nintendo guy, the backwards Xbox button layout is totally unplayable. :( I can do PlayStation, though, but I didn't see the option in the menu.
Another dumb question. Sorry.
Where do i find the bacus fighting place. I forgot where he told me. (I'm at the start of Chapter 2)
Oh well I guess I'll move it along. Did get like 15 million yen in the end-chapter area of chapter 1 at least! Still not sure how to rack up the yen multiplier.Game opens up by chapter 4ish. And no, no keys and lockers this time.
You can collect softcore porn though.

My friend is dealing with a crash to desktop during launch. He went through a lot of the basic suggestions and isn't having any luck.
Did anyone run into and or solve this issue.
Putting it on high priority seems to have fixed any kind of stutter, the game is running super smooth now. Hopefully they'll patch it soon to iron out all these little issues.
Um, no? Most heat moves would probably end real people. In the Yakuza world they somehow manage to be perfectly fine afterwards.
Ugh that sucks... Thanks for the answer, though. On Steam's controller settings, you have enable your DS4. I think it only works if you're actually using a DS4.
Finally got around to installing this.
Though it runs at 160~180+ FPS with vsync off, unless setting the game priority to High in the task manager, there was some stutter during cut-scenes still.
Setting the priority to high is a mandatory for this game even if you far exceed 60 FPS.
