Some of you people are monsters!
I couldn't ignore the story, not in the final chapters. It's too awesome!
I couldn't let my blade friends have their quests go unresolved! That stuff takes TIME.

Nope, NG+ hard resets sode questI kinda regret finishing the main story before certain Blades sidequests... now I can't do Perun's because you have to go to the old factory in Mor Ardain which is now filled with lvl 96s... and I'm 75.
So... either i do NG+(we keep our current sidequests in progress right?) or i lvl up a lot by killing unique monsters and using inns?
probably should head toward the spider cave in gormott and level up there since theres a bunch of level 70 enemies there, then kill territorial rothbart to get you to 80, kill the level 80+ mobs behind the locked gate near the port/elevator in mor ardain, then go after the mobs in the old factory. You'll get there quicker than you think if you're good at building elemental combos.I kinda regret finishing the main story before certain Blades sidequests... now I can't do Perun's because you have to go to the old factory in Mor Ardain which is now filled with lvl 96s... and I'm 75.

I'm like 15h in the game but I don't know if I want to play more... At that point I just want to see more of the story and the characters.
The one thing preventing this is this passive gameplay. I mean I probably still need to unlock some stuff but after 15h I think I saw most of it, and it bores me a lot :( Even on easy mode it still feel like a slog.
Maybe I'll just skip side quests (since I'm trying to do all of them as soon as I can), but damn I need some motivation.
That being said, I probably don't exploit all there is to the battle system so battles could go faster. Basically what I'm aware of :
- third hit of auto attack does the most damage
- you can combine elements attack for special effect and continue the "combo chain"
- you need to use your skill just after an auto attack hits for extra damage
Anything I should know to speed up battles?

I still haven't figured out how to cancel arts... can somebody help? I love the combat system but this aspect i didn't grasp.. only know of this through this thread.
I pretty much learned most of the mechanic in post game like a dumb ass, so yea, I hope everybody doesn't follow. But I planned to continue even after the story, so there was still a lot of chances to enjoy the full combat. This is one of those game that I will keep sending guides for new players, LEARN CANCEL ATTACK and COMBO!
Admittedly i had a hard time to get into this combat system, and i finished both predecessors, that's saying something how lackluster the tutorials are in XC2. Or is it me? I don't know. Fact is that Monolith are masters to hide the best things of their amazing games away or make it as obtuse as possible.https://www.resetera.com/threads/xenoblade-2-blade-chain-driver-combo-advanced-battle-guide.9206/
At least you're still enjoying the combat. Whenever people complain about the combat at the beginning or late game, then give up on the game. I just want to cry . Like seriously please learn Cancel attack and combo the Cancel attack, obtain the 3k affinity skill ASAP. Cancel attack is such a huge mechanic that you will literally be using forever.
I hate it when someone says "yo this game is good after 20-30 hours" but my god, this game is such a different beast after 20-30 hours (after getting cancel attack combo and learning orbs breaking). Whenever I see someone new playing this game I have anxiety, like please push on, I swear the combat gets crazy good later on.
I'm more concern about that triple combo glitch, I just lost 40 tachyon chip after doing that flashy move on a random superboss without knowing it would break the gameWill we get an announcement for May's patch details tomorrow? Will there be another new rare blade for season pass holders this month?
Oh dear that sounds pretty serious. Yeah I hope they fix that asap.I'm more concern about that triple combo glitch, I just lost 40 tachyon chip after doing that flashy move on a random superboss without knowing it would break the game
Doing subquest won't neat you xp directly, only those enemies that you kill. You have to go to the inn to cash in xp, and that is where you can choos to not over level yourself, or use it when you're under level. Is there risk of making the game too easy by doing tons of side-quests instead of progressing through the main story?
I'm on the end of Chapter 5 andwas kicking my ass to be fair and I was like 10 levels ahead of it.Aeshma
I just don't want to make that distance too high by the end of the game.
Yes there are.Is there any items that can speed up the Blades switch recharge? I'm trying to farm up some gold chips and core crystals in the process, but i often miss a Break->Topple>Launch->Smash combo because one of my Blade with the necessary Art is on recharge...
By the way... does any NG+ exclusive Blades have sidequests related to them like the others?
welp, theres the last boss fail... sigh. And yes, im using the combos, he was almost dead, then did the one shot, Morag survived, got me up and I got Nia up... but he still didnt come back in range, he just did another 1 shot right after. Neat >_>
Set up 4-5 orbs to break and one shot him before he gets low enough to one shot you, IIRC.
thats what im doing. Just had 5 orbs now, and I actually couldnt keep the chain going and then the adds killed me lol. Sigh...
Now go play xc1, if you plan on playing it, don't read anything about it, or else just go ahead and spoil yourself. Prioritise xc1.And finished
WHOS CUTTING ONIONS IN MY ROOM?
Great ending to a fantastic game, marred only by the ridiculous and completely unnecessary fanservice that actually sorta ruins a lot of scenes, I'm really not sure what Monolith were thinking with these designs. Still, easily one of my favorite JRPGs ever, and alogn wtih Zelda probably already justified my Switch purchase. Now give me Xeno X port pls Nintendo :(

Then go ahead and spoil yourself on xc1.the only way I would play that (and X) is if they ported them to Switch.
I doubt that they won't come, since Nintendo is pretty much porting every wii u exclusive to expand the switch librarymy RIP was in reply to Matt implying that XC1 wont come to switch :P

Currently the DLC side quests and items are nice to have as you're playing through for the first time, but they're not a big deal. The real meat of the DLC is the story expansion. Personally, I don't think there's a problem waiting to buy the DLC later.Hey! I just bought a Switch and I'll grab Xeno 2 as my fist game. I'm a huge Monolith fan and Xeno X is probably my favorite game ever (played it for +350 hours on my Wii U).
I know there's a new story coming in the future through DLC and I'm sure I'll get it eventually, but I'm a bit low on money right now. Am I missing something if I wait a bit and only buy the season pass after I beat the game? I read the DLC release notes and I see they include item packs, but I don't know what those items actually do. Do they improve the game somehow or only make the game easier? Also, are the extra sidequests worth the price of the season pass?
