I know that this was expected(it's common in every console), but I hope it is better in the PS5 an XSS, at least is less of a problem with quick downloads, moving between HDDs/SSDs etc.

Nah, a decent chunk is probably lost in formatting the drive.
1TB is 931GB of usable space after formatting, so 69GB (nice) can be attributed to that. Still a ton of damn space for OS and system files though.
I took a look, the Xbox One X actually released with 780GB more or less free, so they actually managed to reduce the size by 20GB lol
Yeah I doubt the 128 gb are just for the OS, would be insane.
I mean, CODs are the exception to the filesize rule. Most games are not 100 GB. Also why would anyone have 2 CODs installed at once?

the series S space would be extremely low for a digital console. you def would need the more space pretty quickly IF its the same footprint.
Going to be pretty tight on XSS, especially for a digital only console.
Having said that, I keep 3 games permanently installed on my PC SSD and then rotate the rest (less demanding) games on an HDD so I guess it's not that big of a deal, particularly considering how few native next-gen games there will be at first. Will be a pinch for people with bandwidth caps though.

What do they need 200GB for? I guess some is reserved for gameplay captures but still.
This should be it. Series X can suspend up to 3 games right? So that's 48GB of RAM duplication.
My guess would be general purpose scratch-disc. Like, Quick Resume alone could easily take that up.
Their OS and feature set will be different. I expect the PS5 OS to take up less space.
I wouldn't be shocked if at the end they have similar sizes to each other.
Would this have anything to do Quick Resume? Maybe theres a partition set for storing the states of those games on the drive. Im just throwing out guesses here cause 98GB seems pretty wild.
Someone calculated it out in the other thread, and if it has the same functionality and stuff as the Series X while using roughly the same space, it'd probably be closer to like 550
Doubt the OS takes up a whole 100gb. Most of it is probably partitioned off for Quick Resume, hopefully they give you an option to turn it off to gain back the lost space.
