That doesn't make any sense. What gyro games have you tried? Not if you like winning. If you told me I was in a lobby with nothing but gyro players for a game like COD or Apex, I'm the guaranteed winner every match.

See above, it's more complex.
The Spiderman developers talked about this that some people stick shitty hard drives into their PlayStation and they had to take this into account when designing the game and it's streaming engine. Proprietary means devs can fully concentrate on a level playing field instead of covering for stupid consumer decisions. An Xbox-logo on known-good hardware should do the trick.
Besides, both the PS3 and PS4 allowed you to use whatever HDD you wanted. How many issues have you heard of this causing?
Just there for asthetics.
"Memory performance is asymmetrical - it's not something we could have done with the PC," explains Andrew Goossen "10 gigabytes of physical memory [runs at] 560GB/s. We call this GPU optimal memory. Six gigabytes [runs at] 336GB/s. We call this standard memory. GPU optimal and standard offer identical performance for CPU audio and file IO. The only hardware component that sees a difference in the GPU."
In terms of how the memory is allocated, games get a total of 13.5GB in total, which encompasses all 10GB of GPU optimal memory and 3.5GB of standard memory. This leaves 2.5GB of GDDR6 memory from the slower pool for the operating system and the front-end shell. From Microsoft's perspective, it is still a unified memory system, even if performance can vary. "In conversations with developers, it's typically easy for games to more than fill up their standard memory quota with CPU, audio data, stack data, and executable data, script data, and developers like such a trade-off when it gives them more potential bandwidth," says Goossen.
I thought it was 13.5..
Optical illusion. People thought it was a LED light first. Wich is not smart really.
This post is foolish and utterly misguided, if government procedure and advice by health experts is being followed its right for people to continue doing what they love. I doubt your concern is genuine anyway, you come off as bitter like usual in an Xbox news thread. With the world in the midst of a horrible pandemic, trying to reveal your new gaming hardware is currently incredibly foolish and shortsighted.
Sony will have plenty of news cycles to itself. There is no need to rush.
Ah. I was one of those that thought it was a light :POptical illusion. People thought it was a LED light first. Wich is not smart really.
But with curve of the vent it creates a optical illusion.
Dont bother indeed. Knew who posted it before i looked haha. This post is foolish and utterly misguided, if government procedure and advice by health experts is being followed its right for people to continue doing what they love. Let's go!!!!! COVID-19 may have got us on lockdown but the hype train is still moving.
Excited to see what this generation brings.
It's essential for Vita.
Well, I don't mind it on portable systems but when I'm sitting in my chair playing on a TV, I don't like having to keep my hands in a certain position. With portable games you have to do that anyways to see the screen.
BC games can use non ssd externals. So XSX games won't be able to be played off a external HDD, so Halo Infinite for example has to be on the internal. But what about Xbox One, 360 and OG games? I have tons of that on my external, there's no real reason I can think of these wouldn't work?
Nvidia turing and NAVI have the same IPC per shader. You can't directly compare AMD and NVIDIA TF (or even AMD/NVIDIA different generations).
Nvidia needs less for same real world performance.
Microsoft, you understand us.
In this time of turmoil in the world it would be easy and absolutely acceptable to go radio silent for a while until we all recover. But the world needs things like this to boost moral, provide some happiness and albeit trivial, something to look forward to.
Thanks !
No, that's what enforcing baseline requirements for hardware means. Proprietary means higher prices, and dead hardware once the manufacturers stops providing replacement parts. The Spiderman developers talked about this that some people stick shitty hard drives into their PlayStation and they had to take this into account when designing the game and it's streaming engine. The Xbox Series X is going to be a beacon of technical innovation leadership for this console generation and will propagate the innovation throughout the DirectX ecosystem this year and into next year. It is a privilege to be Microsoft's trusted partner, and we look forward to a successful launch this holiday season!

If that is the case, and the savings are substantial and passed on to the consumer, I'll take my hat off for MS.
I don't believe it though.
I can't think of any. The performance is nothing special. It looks like a money-grab to me, though I will reserve final judgment until we know what pricing is like.
Microsoft & AMD Supercharge Console Gaming with the Xbox Series X
I am excited to share some of the details that Microsoft announced today on Xbox® Series X, and how it is built upon the partnership with the team at AMD. Together, we have relentlessly pushed the innovation boundaries of gaming devices for the last 15 years. Today, AMD and Microsoft are...community.amd.com
How do you feel about every single multiplat under the sun?Everything I've seen is nice, but I'm really feeling the lack of dedicated software. Even the dashboard looks the same as my X. Still interested, but Gears 5 is old news even if it's prettier.
I knew that would come true. Zero need to have legacy games tie up precious storage space on the new SSDs.
