Amazing tech. Following a few console generations of pushing graphics above all, I'm glad the console manufacturers are finally taking sound design and hardware seriously.

Hm... not really impressed. Just some more or less clever panning, level and frequency adjustments. But I haven't played a game with headphones for ages. So maybe games did sound worse before.

I'm not sure i see the point, am i missing something there ?
Cause i mean yeah that's binaural. But if it's not actually with a video of a game generating the sound dynamically, that's just.. a binaural mix.. There is no context to it it shows nothing

Surprised to see all of these 3D audio demos and hype lately. The tech's been around forever. I'm glad it's being standardized, at least.

that they're sharing this on YT, which is notorious for sound compression and frequency cut-offs, is galaxy-brain shit to me. sound frequency trickery is crucial to spatial and binaural audio via headphones, after all. like, the effect is okay, but it's not as good as Atmos-coded audio fed directly to headphones.

So how do I enable this? I have Dolby Atmos headphones, and the DA license thing enabled on my series X.

But when I look at Destiny 2, it doesn't have an Atmos tag. Does this mean I need to change the headphone audio format from Dolby Atmos in the Xbox settings?

How are we supposed to listen to this and what is it supposed to represent?

This tech has never impressed me, just sounds like a weird echo or reverb filter on regular stereo to me.

Whatever Apple is doing with Spatial audio with the gyro and accelerometer... I want that. That is incredible sounding.

This does nothing for me.

Right, it's your average binaural recording.
