Same situation..with the kiddos no time for two consoles (for now) PS5 to start the gen and I'm assuming I'll have the new xbox by the mid gen refresh. Just in time for those juicy zenimax exclusives.

I don't remember how the One orders went. I believe I just did it with no fuss. Each generation gets more difficult I suppose.
Pushed me over the edge that's for sure. I wanted one anyway for Gamepass and BC stuff, but yesterday's move persuaded me that I definitely want to get a Series X.
I don't remember pre orders last gen for any of the consoles (or this gen with the Switch) being as bad as the PS5 situation for sure. Not quite sure if I'm just misremembering things but both the PS5 and Series X sold out instantly, I could have sworn that it was slightly less hectic in previous years? I do remember (at least in the UK) it was rather difficult to get either a One or PS4 soon after launch though, and I'd expect the exact same issue or worse for these consoles over the next few months for sure.
That's true. Definitely makes sense if it was someone who is deciding between a PS5 and Xbox for their console for this generation and they skew more towards RPG's.

Again, EU went fine compared to the 3080 launch. Doesn't mean US won't be a disaster, but I think anyone who is on the ball will likely get one.
I'l also doing Amazon just in case. You wouldn't have to pay up front for Amazon so if I don't get the All-Access, it's alright.
I tried ordering the ps5 on Best Buy when they opened up, didn't go well. Same with the 3080s.

Anecdotal but it seems like online preorders outside the US lasted longer than the PS5 ones did, so I'm hoping the same is true for the US. In all reality if you're ready to go you only need 2 or 3 minutes to add to cart and checkout no matter what site you're going with.
Think I'll be getting this. Game pass makes the decision for me. With $90 games in Canada, I just can't justify the price for ps5 games. I'll get a ps5 in 3-4 years when there's a decent selection of greatest hits games.
