Is just me or Quick Resume NEVER works after powering on the console from "Energy Saving" mode?
It seems to work fine when using "Insant-On" or cycling between games.

It also works after a manual reboot but not with just regular power-off and power-on using Energy Saving.
I don't want to use Instant-on. Don't know what to do. Damn :(

I use 'energy saving' and quick resumes only works half the time it's supposed to. It annoying as no one from MS seem to acknowledge the issue.

Someone from Xbox Staff actually answered me on Reddit, explaining it's most probably a bug linked to some external USB HDD always connected to the console which bugs out QR after a power cycle (with Energy Saving).
I actually found that disconnecting my USB HDD QR works as intended.

They are already investigating for a fix in future updates.

Has there been any updates about the Series X and it's ability to turn off TVs consistently? My Xbox One X did it no problem. The Series X turns on the TV when powered on, but still doesn't turn off the tv when powered off (mind you, turning off the TV powers off the Xbox, I think).

I don't understand why the updates don't always pull over night.

See update, go to bed.
Next morning, turn on.

Let's update!

It could have done that in the 8 hours over night..
I lost 3 one x Scorpio editions to rest mode preview updates! They even acknowledged it when I called support I have never used rest mode since especially with how fast these new systems boot.

Alpha Skip-Ahead builds are not really these days, two days ago my Series X would freeze for a few seconds on almost every UI screen after waking it up, to finally freeze definitely in the game library. Forced a restart and all was good and fast again.

Many screenshots lost as one of the builds did not took them even if the popup said it did.

After each update my controller can't sync with the console (Elite V1, but the SX controller is still in sync), I have to plug it for a few minutes, turn off the controller and try again, several times.

Signing-in is still broken with a false error message (thus can't use Alexa's voice commands to start Netflix or any game if the console is not on already).

Background downloads don't work and had to let the console on for all night to download updates and games.

I know it's an Alpha version and "I signed for it", but sometimes I wonder why they still push buggy builds (when bugs are obvious like the sign-in one that appeared since the first 2108 update) when nothing new gets added to be tested.
It feels like they released a build with nothing new (except background code) but new bugs, previous Alpha Skip-Ahead builds were not that buggy.

I know it's a useless complaining post, but sometimes testing is a pain when many things goes wrong and I hope they fix the more irritating bugs soon.

The Alpha Skip-Ahead ring is to be expected to function that way. These are almost daily dev builds. You shouldn't be in that ring with your primary console if you are not okay with bugs and almost daily updates that don't do much on the surface.

They changed the core of the OS on the Alpha channels. You are testing an unstable, unfinished OS. This will lead to unexpected behavior. And that's the intention of the early rings.

I know, I like testing and giving feedback, but here there's nothing "new" to test and only new bugs that were not in previous Alpha Skip-Ahead builds so all we can do is fill reports and wait.
I mean, some bugs were not obvious and required normal use to notice (like the screenshots one and background downloads), but since the first 2108 build there's that sign-in issue, so why not delay it until this is fixed instead of pushing it ?

I won't go back to other rings unless it gets much more worse (mostly because I don't want to reinstall the OS entirely), I like testing and can't wait for new features. It's just that sometimes testing is a pain and some choices are questionnable.

I've got the compatability options for Auto HDR and and FPS Boost now.
I don't know if it's only for people in the preview but I've only just noticed it.

Ahh annoying. Rolled back my update to a lesser rank because I was having issues with Netflix, NowTV, etc. Still nothing. Only so many times I can reset a console/TV or swap out cables.

From 'quake area to big OH.
So I have been digital since December when I dropped Watch Dogs Legion.

This week, every time I go to launch the disc it fails one time. Then the next time it works. It's there a disc bug? Thought it was just for the icon.

This is reminding me of my Og One going bad.

One interesting thing regarding Edge on Alpha Skip Ahead, the first build with the new Edge was pretty much a copy paste from the PC build, however on the last update they removed Extension support and also the downloads and printer settings options from the settings page. I'm guessing that they did that for security reasons, but it is a shame.

In the latest Skip Ahead update there is a new button in the download queue to suspend the currently running game, neat :)
There is no "Suspend game" option in the game contextual menu for now.

It's not in the release notes though.

Having the weirdest issue with the latest Alpha and Skip Ahead branches.

Running in 4k 120hz on my LG E9.

Every time I load a second game it looses HDMI right when it should be firing to game mode and I have to reset the console.

I fixed it last time by switching from skip ahead to alpha but it's followed me here in an update end of last week.

Might need to drop from the insider program, its a pain.

Wondering if anyone else is running into something similar. May cross post this in the main OT if no one here has seen/heard of anything similar.

Just today, while watching Sling via the app on my Series X... during the ads during the program, the screen will go black. Audio continues. I can also hear the blade/menu opening but nothing at all shows on screen. Actual TV menus (volume, menu, etc.) show fine so there is a picture, just not from the Series X. Changing from HDMI 4 to 3, then back to 4 gets my picture back.

Does this sound like some kind of handshake issue caused by hitting the ads in the app? Seems odd. I've not noticed it happen any other time while using sling, only after an ad. Just wondering if anyone else has run into anything similar.
