Dolby Vision is supported in streaming apps like Netflix (including right now on xbox one) but not UHD discs for whatever reason. Dolby Vision games is 2021 sometime... Cyberpunk may be the first since it's what they use as an example.

yeah that's what I figured. By not having a Dolby vision set nor any real interest in 4K uhd Blu-ray I don't think it's a massive deal breaker (for me at least)

Ah, I'm so glad AC Valhalla is confirmed to be at 60. I played the last two (well, I'm still playing Odyssey) on PC at 60, and I can't go back now. That was the deal-breaker/maker for getting it on Series X, so I'll be picking that up on the console now!

I've yet to play either AC Origins or Odyssey. And yeah, this is why I'm not too shook up about no big launch exclusives on Nov. 10. My list of BC/enhanced games to play on XSX is ridonkulous.

I hope interviewers get a bit more creative with Phil. They tend to ask a lot more about Xbox games shipping on Switch and PlayStation than digging deeper with individual studios and games. Seems the media outlets all want to create certain headlines there when I the fan would want to know more about what the hell we can expect from many of these short teaser trailers.

Yeah. The problem here is: Phil said he were not liking everyone asking about Switch ports, so it's not something they're focusing on. But after some months, Ori and the Will of the Wisps launch on Switch. So people begin to think anything could happen in this regard. Can we blame them?

I believe Moon Studios knew that "Ori 2" would launch on Switch months before the Xbox launch (or maybe since the project was greenlit). They made this deal with Xbox.
Certainly it was good for Moon, it was good for Xbox to have this game on the platform, but the benefits of exclusivity kinda turns into negative comments when done this way. When Phil talked about not liking the Switch ports questions, he knew there was at least this game still to launch on Switch. Since there was a confidential agreement to launch this great game after X months (I believe it was 6?) on another platform, should Phil talk about it before the time? Would this help Xbox in any way back then (the interview)?

So, it sounds like Spencer could drop a info like that if the interviewer has luck pressing him (they try, at least). Spencer said that it would be illegal to determine things for Bethesda before the deal is sealed. He's right. And maybe this is the hint press needed now to stop asking about Bethesda exclusives. For now.

But, as people say in my country, "You reap what you sow". Better get used to this situation, because even Xbox don't want to make a definitive statement about it. And maybe they don't need to.

On the subject of interviews and Phil, I miss the annual Giant Bomb E3 interview with Jeff on the couch. I'm surprised they haven't done a virtual one, especially in a console launch year. It's always popular and good exposure.

I can absolutely see a third person game in the Perfect Dark Universe with an infinite budget with this team. Perfect Dark was run and gun initially, but I can see this stealing from the formula of TLOU/Uncharted with more focus on action/adventure elements. What I worry about with Perfect Dark is that it has no story. I'd really like to see narrative/writing be an immense focus for the games with big teams. That's why I'm stoked about Bethesda, but even they don't really focus on it as much as Sony's first party.

I want games from Microsoft that actually say something or try to say something. To have a message. Hellblade has that opportunity and Tell Me Why absolutely said something. But I want the big budget games to as well. That's what's missing for Microsoft.

I want something that focuses on story, but doesn't sacrifice gameplay for it. A lot of Sony's first party titles have gotten a bit stale because they've been really focused in that linear gameplay aspect where it feels really directed.

This is at the same time no knock against those games, as one of them (Last of Us) is one of my favorite games of all time, but they all kind of feel samey now and I hope Initiative kind of innovates with story focused games. There needs to be a better blending of cinematic narrative and gameplay.

That's quite the cast. Hoping it translates to quality content for us.

JEFFREY GRUBB Any chance you can try Lost Odyssey? It's not optimized or anything even on X1 but I remember the loading times being abysmal.

Also, still no update on Xbox Live Gold thingy?

No RT for Series S. Not a good start.

Honestly, it makes total sense. RTX is such a resource hog and DMC should be played at high fps. I still like options (that's why I game on a PC) but if I was the one cutting features RTX would be the first to go (even if it's just reflections, which is not as intensive as many other RTX solutions.)

Time to play Jedi Fallen Order!!!

So glad I waited to play Fallen Order, this is gonna be my launch title I think.

LOL Red Wings. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

True, things haven't been great lately, but I just console myself with my memories of watching them hoist four cups :)

ToadPacShakur Stars were my second team, I grew up a fan of their farm team in the old IHL (Kalamazoo Wings). Watched Turco and others come through.

P.s. blue objectively tastes best.

Question about load times on Series X for BC titles. I likely missed this in one of Grubb's videos, but do the titles need to be installed on the internal SSD in order to take advantage of the greatly reduced load times on XB1 games? Or can I simply plug in my external HDD and still benefit from them? What about quick resume?

Digital foundry tested this, and an external SSD gives you almost the same loading speed as the internal drive and is their recommendation for older generation games.
