Q: How can I tell if my 2017, high end 4K HDR Samsung TV supports 120hz?
What model and size?
Some Samsung's only do 120Hz on certain sizes (I say as the owner of a NU8000 that does 120Hz on every size except the one I have)
That's the thing, I'm away from home for a few weeks so I can't check and I think it was some slightly different panel for the Canadian market (I'm sure the tech is essentially the same, I never understood why it had a slightly different model # than non Canadian tvs). What model and size?

I have the same setup, it's ace! Make sure you check out Ori and the will of the wisp for an HDR showcase.Managed to get a Xbox Series X yesterday, and got a LG CX recently. Can't wait to play Titanfall 2 on it.
Looking forward to replaying it on the XSX! Was already beautiful on my Xbox One X and Vizio LCD HDTV. Can't wait to see how much better it will look.I have the same setup, it's ace! Make sure you check out Ori and the will of the wisp for an HDR showcase.
I really notice it in FPS games when you pan the camera. Even though 60fps is smooth, when panning the camera in 120fps the image remains crystal clear and you can still see everything. In 60fps it causes a "natural" blur that makes the image look less clean. I agree it's great in MCC.I was pretty skeptical of 120 FPS at first on my LG CX, but I went back to Halo 5 yesterday (60 FPS) after playing Halo MCC a lot (120 fps) and it felt kind of janky.
Wish we could get a resolution boost for Battlefield 4.
But more games getting FPS boost is always nice.
Very.Is Titanfall 2 single player any good? I've been meaning to check it out and this might push me to play it.
Splinter Cell Conviction and Blacklist at 60fps 😎
Yeah, I would prefer if they target games locked at 30fps on One/X before chasing that 120Hz.We don't know. Right now they're focused on boosting as many Xbox One games as they can.
Are you sure? Digital Foundry doesn't mention a dynamic resolution. 720p on Xbox and 900p on PS4.Should be 900p on Series/One X.
It's dynamic on Xbox. 720p-900p. I don't think it drops below 900p at all on the enhanced consoles.
I'd be surprised if this wasn't the most common thread topic on Era lol.Is Titanfall 2 single player any good? I've been meaning to check it out and this might push me to play it.

Mirror's Edge Catalyst on Xbox One uses a dynamic resolution ranging between 1280x720 and 1600x900. The resolution on Xbox One seems to spend most of its time near 1280x720 with 1600x900 seemingly never occuring. The Xbox One X doesn't ever appear to render at less than 1600x900.

Thank you. I wonder why they didn't mention this in the written analysis.Mirror's Edge Catalyst Xbox One vs Xbox One X Frame Rate Test

4K 120? That is only for newer, mostly post 2019 TVs. Your current one likely will support 120Hz at 1080p though, just beware you likely will not have VRR capability in this mode. This is awesome, I'm replaying TF2 on my Series X when I can get my hands on one.
Q: How can I tell if my 2017, high end 4K HDR Samsung TV supports 120hz?
I was just going to ask... the last time I looked at ME was on One X a while back, and it was still 30fps. I was hoping it would receive an update at some point. Hopefully we do!Nice, hopefully the good Mirror's Edge gets boosted to 60 at some point.
doesnt matterIf I set my Series X to 120hz, do I need to switch it back to 60hz when playing 60fps games or does it not matter?
I mean Battlefield 4 got one lol. I guess when you put it like that Anthem should be removed from ea play. I think a 60 fps update would have helped Anthem a long way.Isn't this dead, or dying? Not sure they would bother, better to sweep it under the rug I would assume.
Doesn't matter. With 120hz on, 30fps games will run at 30fps, 60fps games will run at 60fps, and 120fps games will run at 120fps.If I set my Series X to 120hz, do I need to switch it back to 60hz when playing 60fps games or does it not matter?
First game I played and beat on Gamepass was Titanfall 2, even though I had already completed it when the game launched on PS4. Was amazing already on Series X, now with the boost must be even more so.Think it may be time to finally play the Titanfall 2 campaign.
