Me too but, uh, AEW's ratings has stagnated since months ago. I want AEW to surpass WWE on merit of their own growth rather than WWE's fall. It's a marathon as someone once said though...

Yeah, I remember CM Punk saying this is going to be like a five-year process in terms of AEW growing after he came in.

TV viewership is pretty stable for AEW, but you can tell Tony is trying to do things to get more people on board. Provided the shows stay as good as they've been, the marketing machine stays strong, and AEW gets a bigger TV payday during their next round of contract negotiations, I imagine we'll see TV growth. They're already successful by other metrics, though...PPV buys and attendance figures being the two main measurements. And Dynamite is consistently at or near the top of the cable charts.

That number isn't going to go up for AEW until more people are exposed to it. For a 2.5 year old wrestling company to be attracting the number of viewers they have and consistently in the top 5 cable shows, that is impressive. Just wait until that new TV deal.

That Cody bump might wear off quicker than I thought.

Yeah - AEW needs years of folks talking about it for new people to give it a chance.

My PPV watch parties have slowly grown from 4-5 people to about 30 but few folks watch the weekly show still. Itll take years and years of soft exposure like this for people to care and that means putting out quality rasslin product for years. There isnt another Punk/Danielson bump out there for AEW. Even if they got another person that big they wont get the same bump.

It's not about popping a number for a week. It's about putting on a consistently good show every week for years. It's how Raw ended up beating Nitro.

Yep. Always have to keep the lessons of WCW and TNA in mind in this case, too. Don't needlessly go head-to-head with WWE, and keep delivering what your fans--the people actually paying money for your product--want. Just don't get lazy.

Crazy how despite being 10k difference in overall views, Rampage doubles them in 18-49 despite the time-slot. For a show that is supposed to be aimed at the younger audience, it's ironic that only thing saving this show is literal old people.

Like 54% of Rampage's audience is 18-49 compared to NXT's 24%.

Are older people hornier than younger people? 😮

Old people haven't figured out how to go look at porn yet, so they might as well watch all the cringe horny shit on NXT

I know wrestling companies are big on it, but I'm wondering how much announcing big matches through Twitter over announcing them on Dynamite a week in advance is effecting the ratings.

It's NBA playoff time. Those ratings are probably going to be down a bit a until a game isn't on a Wednesday night, which probably won't happen until the conference finals.

Dynamite is going up against Kevin Durant and Giannis games next Wednesday. Nets/Celtics is probably the hottest first round matchup of the entire playoffs.

oh, and for good measure, there's Raptors/Phily as well, so there goes Canadian viewership too

Raw will no doubt drown on Monday as well. Expecting another 150k drop at least for them going up against the same games.

I expected Rampage to do better, despite the time change, because of it being Live and with the World title on the line

Was hoping for higher numbers for Rampage. Wonder how it would do if the west coast was on tape delay and not live. (Not possible with the NBA, of course.)

SDs demo rating is like ~100k over Dynamite.

And Fox paid how much?
I believe WWE essentially get 8 or 9 times as much for their TV shows as AEW does so it is indeed a great deal for TNT.

The latest Wrestlenomics was discussing the next set of deals and Brandon said he thinks WWE will get an increase of x1.5 and AEW around x3.5 of their current deals.

WWE still has a lead and also the established name value so they will still be getting a great deal but considering AEW would have been profitable last year if not for the games development, potentially getting x3.5 what they currently are for their TV contract would be massive. Essentially an extra $85m a year roughly.

Down a bit from the first one but honestly not too bad. Expected far worse myself with it's limited build.

Mania bump gone + NBA. We're back to normal.

Maybe another count out finish next week will turn it around again.

Quick hit the panic button. Time to announce that Roman reigns will be on raw next week to announce that he will be on smackdown.
