I am currently on a staycation so yes. It's cheaper and it's still pretty fun

Scotland
Scotland has a lot of really nice scenery if you can put up with wind and rain and snow and hills and walking. So yeah I would but I'm too lazy to do so.

Yes.

I live in DC.

Amazing place to live, but please don't visit; I'm tired of tourists.

I live in NYC so yeah. I often take random days off to go to museums or places around the city I haven't been to yet.

I live in Northern California so we basically take all of our vacations somewhere around here. There's so much to see and do-up in the Sierras or down at the beach at Santa Cruz or maybe up in Sonoma wine country or the Redwoods or any number of National Parks.....we can just drive a few hours and it's wonderful.
Exactly. San Jose sucks unless it's food, but having all these places close is a godsend. Don't have to drive more than an hour for a good time.

As someone that lived in NJ for a year I agree. Couldn't wait to get out of there lol.
EDIT: also just saw this pic on reddit and need to throw this on the list of places to visit in the state

Yes. I like taking mini-staycations here in the city. Getting a nice hotel room and then going out and painting the city red. It feels super indulgent.

Yeah, I live in a city that many people holiday in. Would I personally stay here if I had a choice of destinations? Nah.

My city is consistently one of the top 10 livable cities in the world. Surrounded by great beaches and wine regions. So yeah, I would

The South Bay is more of a place to take a day trip to if you're vacationing in SF or Monterey or something.

Tokyo
I could see myself staying a night or two in one of the seaside resorts within an hour of the Tokyo area.

This I am currently on vacation every day. Everywhere else kind of is a bummer in my experience or just not my speed.

I have heard that many Californians say they have never left their state because there is so much to do within 1 state. Snow, desert, ocean, mountains, redwoods, Napa/Sonoma wine country, etc.

There's some interesting stuff here, but I don't think I'd be interested in coming here unless I lived within about 2 hours of here. Problem is this place is instead within two hours of several places that are more interesting. lol

I wouldn't because I don't love golf and fishing as much as others, but I can understand others would enjoy it a lot. Ocean and great golf courses are about 10-15 mins from where I live.
