I´m talking bout gameplay mostly here.
Thanks for clarifying. I'd love to see VI get a big budget remake but not with the worst of both worlds gameplay of VII R. Maybe if they emphasized the tactical aspects more, but the current blend is a no for me.

Splitting into multiple parts?
No, thanks.

FFVIII getting this remake treatment would be fantastic but it would take a miracle and I don't know if I could live till I'm 100.

No I hope SE focuses their attention on developing new FF titles. IMO they've been too focused on chasing the AAA space but their teams aren't up to the task with multiple delays and laughably long development cycles. They should scale back and refocus their efforts on producing tight AA experiences.

I wouldn't mind as long as they find a way to condense them down and not make them all a series of 3+ games each. Also, as long as they don't get in the way of new Final Fantasy titles. They would need to keep XVI, XVII, etc. going strong.

Well Part 1 has taken like 6 years, so at this point I just want to see more FF remakes of FFVII.

I would welcome less extensive remakes of other FF titles though.

I'd like to see more of them remade with FFXII's production values (and probably keeping most of them on some fashion of faster turn-based battle system a la FFX-2/FFXII). But probably not with FFVIIR's production values/splitting it up into multiple games.

Of course I would love every remake to look as good as Final Fantasy VII Remake, but that much time and money should only be invested in special cases, such as Final Fantasy VII.

I'd rather have multiple low/mid budget quality titles for future remakes than a single game that might still be 10 years away from a full release.

I originally said no, thinking only how I want VI to keep same style but totally better image quality (something like that octopath traveler thread about VI), but then remember IX and would love a full blown remake for that.

No. The only one I'd like remade is VI, and I know Square would fuck it up, and I'd only get mad. I'm already not a big fan with how they're handling VII.

Yes, games like FFVI would be glorious with the budget and care FF7R got, especially since all the classic FFs came out before I started to get into games (or before I was born). But honestly id rather we see a new game with the same budget and care than another remake.

In FFV and FFVI's case I'd rather see them as concise, one-and-done games, not AAA multi-part projects. Sorta like the Trials of Mana remake. If doing FFVII the way they are is already giving them a hard time without breaking it up, there are aspects of FFV and FFVI's world and design that would make them even more difficult and time-consuming.

FFVIII and FFIX, maybe, but I'm still leaning towards no.

Pretty much any FF, even the ones I don't like that much such as IX, XII or VI. But I want a FFIV remake with the same budget as FF7R's and looks on par with the CGI intro of FFIV DS.

No. Not until Square proves they can keep making new games too. I'm not interested in spending the next 20 years on nostalgia porn.

Fuck yeah. What I've loved about these remakes like Resi 2 and FF7 is they're not straight replacements for the originals because, despite being remakes, they're so different. Gameplay, presentation, even story. So I really like them for that! It's fun to see what's different, what's changed, as well as all the familiar stuff re-done with modern tech. So I'm more than happy to see more.

I want 1-6 in the style of Octopath Traveller. I want 8 and 9 in the style of Dragon Quest XI.

I really don't care about remakes, give me new games, not re-heated past glories.
Sadly, remakes everywhere.

I agree that there should be more remakes in the style of FFVII Remake, but I think they should he handled better.

Also, Professor Beef be damned, I want my actual FFIV Remake!

I want FF6 remade, but not as over-the-top and high-production as the 7 remake. Just a middle-ground production that doesn't take 4+ years to complete.

No. I haven't played most of the classic FF games and far more interested in playing those originals than any potential remakes. I'll definitely be plying FF7 before it's remake, so I'm really in no need of multiple versions of these games to play.

Plus new games over remakes is almost always my vibe, unless the original was never localized or something along those lines.

No.
They should instead focus on making more original Final Fantasies. Maybe two separate teams should work on them, so that we can have a new FF more often like in earlier times.

Sure so long as it is radically different from the original and is called Final Fantasy XVI

I would like FF6 that looks like 7 remake but plays more like 14.
It would take 10 years to make.

No, not at all. I don't want them to spend 10+ years on a multi-part remake of anything. Instead of trying to remake classics they should be trying to make new titles that reach the same level of quality as the old games.

I want an ff6 remake but the entire package as one release. FF7 remake being split has me turn and I will likely wait until all parts are out before playing any of them

Only want remakes for what we haven't had yet, so V and VI first before anything. I through IV all have great remakes as they are.

That's not really worth doing. VI deserves better than yet another visual touch-up, at least in my opinion.
I also don't want a bloated game that can't be experienced in one game. Remaking VI in the OT style would modernize it without bloating it to the point where we need multiple entries to retell the story. I don't think games like Chrono Trigger or FFVI need to be remake to the level of FF7R. They could definitely keep its "16-bit" roots and make something modern and exciting.
