Or would they be on some bullshit? Would they use the old "no body, you got to wait 7 years" or "Act of God"?

Even if there was no exclusion, every company would immediately become bankrupt because they wouldn't be able to pay the claims.

Imagine trying to determine who gets the payout in a world where mad people just don't exist anymore

England
I wonder if the general population even know what happened. Do you think the remaining Avengers put out a PR statement like "A big purple guy snapped his fingers and killed half the universe using concepts-as-stones MacGuffins. Sorry"?

Society would collapse after the Snap, so insurance companies and payouts would be irrelevant.
Not really. Most of the snapped would be countries like India, China, etc. because of their population levels. Only way it happens if by the roll of the dice all the competent people and enforcement agencies were snapped.

Insurance companies refuse payout in disasters because they claim it would bankrupt them. (Which is a lie and they should be arrested for even withholding payment or able to say shit that like). They offer a service and they are binded to pay it.

Man I wish every insurance company was the half of the population that was snapped.

Insurance companies wouldnt exist anymore . A snap that wipes out half of humanity will also wipe out society as we know it.

Actual answer: no. Most insurance companies/contracts have "force majeure" clauses that waive liability from both parties in the case of catastrophic or unforseeable events, such as natural disasters or... the snap.

I'm gonna go with "Act of God": Denied

But something would be created similar to The Leftovers to handle such a situation. Although in reality in a world where half the population vanishes the world as we know it would have ended and I think insurance claims would be the least of our worries as the global economy crashes overnight and banks become defunct.

Under proximate cause, they might have to in some cases.

Like say at the end of infinity war when
the helicopter crashes into the skyscraper before Nick Fury and Maria Hill die. If the owners or occupants of the skyscraper have cover against airborne vehicle impacts, then they'd be covered for the helicopter crashing into it, regardless of why the helicopter crashed

It gets a little more difficult if there's policy waivers or endorsements against an event of this kind. But otherwise yeah, proximate cause.

Probably the same thing would happen that happened after Sept 11 in terms of terrorism coverage. After that carriers started explicitly excluding acts of terrorism but since there was a need for this coverage the federal government stepped in and offered a backstop for carriers so that they could provide the coverage. The snap would not qualify as an act of terrorism, but after the first attack on new York Carriers would exclude loss caused by extraterrestrial beings since it is an uninsurable event. Given the attack on ny there would be a need for this coverage so the federal government in the US (and likely other countries) would offer a backstop so carriers could provide this coverage.
