Edgar Wright talked about this on the Empire Podcast. It was a bit ago, but I think he said he would love it if the whole audience would cheer and clap in the theater whenever this happens. I imagine ironically.

It's been years since I've read the books, so maybe that line is pulled word for word form Tolkien, but there is just something about the way it's delivered in the movie that has that real "You know Ellie..." vibe to it. It's maybe the only line in all the movies that I think is a little too...I don't want to say cringe-y, but kind of.

The Two towers one was especially notable because Tolkein didnt come up with the titles of the individual books, and The Two Towers has a lot more than Two towers in it.

Casino was a really egregious example, I think that has to top any list. Second one up would I suppose have to be Star Wars.
