They both look great and millions are going to see both anyway.
Everything went to shit in 1985. 1985 and forward is way "more" 90s, if that makes sense.
Orwell probably has something to do with it.
Plus, it was an bafflingly legendary year for movies/pop culture.
1984 alone saw the releases of:

People who grew up in the 80s and 90s right now represent the adults w/ disposable income segment of the market, so they are being catered to. 20 years ago there was a ton of 60s/70s nostalgia pandering to boomers. In 15 years there will be a comic book period movie set in 2005 and people will eat it up too.
Halfway to a good trailer, not showing any story and barely touching the villains made it seem kind of nothing.

Typically the story focused trailers happen closer to a movie's release. This was a vibe trailer.
So there is some kind of wish fulfillment shenanigans going on, perhaps a deal with the devil type thing? Is there a deity or something that does that in WW?

Nah I'm there with you, it was rather standard fare. Nothing amazing.
Awesome trailer, been waiting for this. I'm a little disappointed not showing Cheetah but i think they might do that in the 2nd trailer. Love the music and overall look of this, although it sorta reminds me a bit of the 3rd season of Stranger Things, which i was kinda iffy on

Shout out for the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden! Woooooooo! Oh, and the rest of the trailer looked fun, too. I particularly liked the orchestrated variation on "Blue Monday". Admittedly, I'm pretty fuzzy on what the movie is, you know, about, but presumably a second trailer will show up at some point to spell that out in excruciating detail.
Still waiting for an answer to this vital question. I demand to be spoiled.

I dig it. So glad they ditched the grim Zack Snyder Aesthetic. Weird retro aesthetic without being the usual "80s tropes".
