Yep. They never recaptured the hype of the first teaser. The marketing has been a mess since that excellent initial teaser.Feels about right, I been saying it's deflated massively since the first trailer

I think it is a bunch of things, I think above all the movie is about 10 years too lateIs it the trailer or people overestimated how a popular IP will translate to film?

The only hype thing about that trailer was MewtooWell then. The trailer in front of both of my endgame showings did seem off and the crowd was flat. Interesting.
It will do like $250-300m ish domestic from here on out. International most likely. At this point it is more a when not if it passes Avatar. Unless it completely falls off a cliff. Which is even more unlikely to happen.Do you guys think Endgame has at least 600m left in it's tank to pass AVATAR? (Say 300m domestic and 300m internationally)
So you admit defeat? It will do like $250-300m ish domestic from here on out. International most likely. At this point it is more a when not if it passes Avatar. Unless it completely falls off a cliff. Which is even more unlikely to happen.
The last century of movies and tv must have been really hard for you!i really hope 60/120fps will catch on soon. 24fps just looks like garbage. i hate it so much.
Easily.Do you guys think Endgame has at least 600m left in it's tank to pass AVATAR? (Say 300m domestic and 300m internationally)
Yup. With Titanic
Agree. It makes me sad more people saw Intruder than Long Shot, I really liked Long Shot

I wouldn't say never, but it would take the perfect movie at the perfect time and just a horrible release slate for a quarter.
Close to it for me, and the craziest opening to a rom/com everAgree.
I loved Long Shot. I mentioned yesterday that it was my favorite Seth Rogen movie. Such a fun/hilarious watch.

Deadline has Pikachu tracking at 50 mil opening weekend. Is that right? Sounds low. I was assuming 100 mil domestic was in the cards.
It is a shame quality horror does not hit as hard as the bad ones, bar a few that do by the fact that horror is hot
WB's action pic Run All Night, starring Liam Neeson as a hitman protecting his family, had occupied that February date but has been moved off the schedule completely as Jupiter slides into its place. I hear the Wachowskis needed more time to complete visual effects work on their CG-heavy space epic..,

Once again, Endgame comes in second place.Nice! So TFA is still king at second highest weekend. We can rest now.
Probably.
That too, that Red and Blue generation would be hitting about the right ageI actually think it's 10 years too early to bank on the 30-year nostalgia cycle.
Looking at Avatar now on BOM and this is what always stands out to me:
3rd weekend - #2 all time (after TFA)
4th weekend - #1 all time
5th weekend - #1 all time
6th weekend - #1 all time
7th weekend - #1 all time
*this is where Avatar and Titanic cross streams*
8th weekend - #2 all time (after Titanic)
9th weekend - #2 all time (after Titanic)
10th weekend - #2 all time (after Titanic)
11th weekend - #2 all time (after Titanic)
12th weekend - #3 all time (after Titanic and......Home Alone?!)
Cameron got dem legs
Was just looking at the Avatar global take. It hit 2.78 billion or whatever with only 200 mill from China. EG will get 600+ from China. Both Titanic and Avatar seemed to have a more global reach.

Oh yeah, the more i hear of Reynolds, the less charmed I am by it.
Japan has been getting a pokemon movie damn near every year since inceptionTell that to games, feels like ever since the 3DS they've aiming for the Red/Blue generation.
Surprised Japan is fairly quiet on it as well.
I think it is more the writing, then anything. I like Reynolds but he near been one of those actors that could make bad writing shine.Yeah, Reynolds is kind of...annoying. I've made my peace with Deadpool in the MCU, but if it was my choice he'd be snapped.
Don't @ me Deadpool fans. I don't like the character anyway, let alone Reynolds interpretation.
Endgame continues to clean up but I'm really hoping Detective Pikachu does well this week.
Cameron should have kept his mouth shut then. This is coming from a Avatar Stan.
