Sekiro, Nioh, Ghost of Tsushima, The gameplay style of Souls games shows that gamers enjoy the aesthetics and gameplay of hyper realistic melee combat.

Think about it a melee base battle royal game on a feudal japan like battlefield (I guess similar to For Honor but with 100 samurai )

Still waiting for Yakuza Ishin and Kenzan
Ishin has to be the next localization for the Yakuza Localization team. There is nothing more they can bring over aside from Kenzan (though this will probably end up getting a remake instead) and the PSP games (unlikely but I would love a port of them atleast as the story sounds interesting) and Dead Souls which is probably never happening due to the reception of it.

A lot of people seem to remember Bushido Blade far more fondly in retrospect than people who actually played the game in the first place. It was never that good.

Wha? Bushido Blade was excellent fun!

Also, I'm all for a return of the series.
But not as a Battle Royale. What is wrong with y'all?!

I honestly find the first game to be one of the best games on PS1.

BB2 however...

Agree first game was much better.

But I will admit I may be drunk off nostalgia. It was the first fighting game of its kind (at least that I know of)

But yea 100 samurai and melee based ninja running around on a battlefield. How sweet would that be? Maybe a cameo by Genji and Hanzo!!!

Battle royal and samurais..... I think I need to get in touch with Acquire and give them an idea on how to revive the Way of the Samurai series. Random swords and have people grab them and do combat with each other.

Im will support Way of the Samurai in this style too. Katanakami will probably scratch my WOS itch though

Why Bushido Blade? Making a new IP sounds like a better idea.

Bushido Blade didn't take place in feudal Japan though? Like it's clear from certain stages that the game takes place in modern times.

Lets forget that piece or use it for a game adaption of G.I Samurai

Bushido Blade BR would last of all of ten seconds.
But what a glorious ten seconds it would be!

I loved the original and would love a reboot (hell, it'd be one of the few game franchises that I could be tempted to crowd fund), but only if BR was an optional game mode. I'd also need traditional local and online versus matches, as well as SP content (multiple characters with unique endings/cut scenes like the original would be a must).

Nice idea. I could go for that for sure

I miss Bushido Blade. Would love to see this return. Still remember having trouble with bitch ass Katze.

I agree. It really had some innovative ideas like the stage being a complete level, I just don't think it's a concept that'd fly nowadays cause there's really not much there.

I adore those games. Don't quite understand reviving it as anything but a fighter? The IP isn't exactly well known and people aren't clamoring for the return of Schuvaltz Katze.

I mean, this is basically For Honor.

That being said the beauty in Bushido Blade was in the 1:1 All-or-nothing battles.
